should i just use those or add the daylight 6500k to the sides as well???

Its always good to have a mixed spectrum. Because the sun has a multiple band of spectrums so imitating the sun is always the best bet. I would put some 6500k with your 2700s up top and use the 2700s you took out for side lighting. I am guessing the 2700s are 42w and the 6500s are lower maybe around 23w soooo mix it up for your main lighting and use the large 42ws for some side lighting also.

Peace

Edit: that is if I am correct about your wattage. but still do the mixed spectrums man its never bad to have more and more lighting.

i have not used both HPS and CFL at the same time... strikes me as holding a candle up next to a flood light... try it out though and see if it makes a difference.

for three days i would not bother upgrading the CFLs unless you have them laying around.
