Hey guys im still tweaking my 1st grow set up so i got a couple questions about lighting.
before i ask i just gotta let u know this set up is going to be for veg and veg alone they will be flowered in a different place altogether with a different set up still soil and cfl just bigger box etc.
so im wondering where should i set up my lights in my box i currently have 5 cfl's...4 are 6500k 23watters and 1 23watt 3000k. i got 3 running off a powerbar using the plug to lightsocket adapters with a couple of those adapters that look like the letter Y that turn a single light socket into 2 and the 5th light i just took the wiring and socket assembly out of an old lamp and im using that. i got the set up in a 68Liter rubbermade with a fan circulating ambient air.(no intake or exhaust fan) ive thought about making a couple holes in the box to maybe hold the light adapters and i could keep the power bar and wires out of the box or if anybody knows an easy way of making a powerbar light set up adjustable?? any suggestions welcomed!!!:bigjoint: cuz for right now im just using old dvd cases to put under my seedlings so their close to the light and taking one or 2 a day away. HAHA i also went to the "as seen on tv" store today and got those aqua globes for like 10 bucks for 2 we'll see if they work:confused: anybodyelse growin with a rubbermade set up let me know please espically if u got a journal with pics!!! i wanna see how to do it the proper way and see where i can improve!!

anyways thanks again for the input!!!!!!!!bongsmilie

i have 6 CFLs on a power bar the same way u do. its a bitch to use boxes to move them up and down but thats what i do too. u should also use 120mm computer fans for vent it really cools things down with CFLs.those aqua globes look like a rip but let us know how they work. by the way how many plants u growing?

i have thought about using comp fans b4 but i have somewhat limited knowledge on anything except the basics when it comes to comps.

what kind of power source or set up would i be looking at if i wanted to run a couple?? cuz i have noticed a bit of heat but my 4 seedlings are lookin good. the strain is northern lights #5 i want to start small and if i get a good female(or 4:hump:) ill try cloning but if i screw up i got a couple seeds for a second shot.

As far as the aqua globes ill keep ya posted i just saw em on tv 1 night and was like "what a cool concept":eyesmoke: They're supposed to let water into the soil when it releases air???

to power the 120mm compfans you need a 12VOLT AC TO DO ADAPTERr i bought mine at raidioshak for about 20 each. then you need to cut the wires and carefully connect them to the fans. if u dont know shit about electronics i suggest you enlist the help of a friend who does. but it is mostly simple.

you should put bong water in the aquaglobe and see what happens.

well the aqua globes seem to be letting water into the plants so far had a minor dirt clog in 1 but the soil for the 2 plants that didnt have em in was dry in the morning when i got up and the ones that had them were still a bit moist...i guess so far so good but if they end up being disapointion im totally gonna mcguiver myself a bong out of thembongsmilie and putting bong water in them hmmmm i think ill pass lol, thanks 4 the tips on the fan ill run out tomorow and do it. i installed an amp and subs in my car so maybe ill give it a shot and plug the whole set up in in the garage for 1st time with an extension cord from like 15 feet away any probs i got 15 feet of buffer im just shit when it comes to knowing about computers/networking/fixing computer probs electrical im ok with...ill see if im in over my head tho b4 i begin. oh yeah i also got one of those camping emergency blankets to line my box 2.99 :mrgreen:ya DEAL!! i dunno how much mylar is but i bet its more than 2.99 anyways im just rambling about nothin so.....:peace:
