Cfl lighting

Very simple question guys, How far away should my cfl lighting be? I'm using four of them hanging below the canopy to make use of the wasted upward bound light... and I think once the canopy gets dense because there are plants every sq.ft. the lights will touch the bud/leafs....will this be ok?

They will be ok to touch the plant if they are like ~25w or under. Any higher and don't let them touch.

cfls will burn if left touching for a while keep them 1-2" from plant

for the most part yes. because floros dont get that hot. how many watts are your floros?

they are 125w

You may need to double check this, but I think 5 to 7 inchs away is what you need.

I have mine about 2" away. Make sure and rotate the plants every few hours and yes, they will burn if they touch the plants. I have a couple of burns on mine from being too close. Another thing to keep in mind, if there is any substance on the leaves, be it nute or fert or whatever, the light be cause those substances to "cook" and this could burn the plant as well.
