Whats up guys, I got a 125w cfl bulb with the light fixture and was wondering how far away I should put it from my little 1 inch stem with the 4 leaves..

As close as you can get it without harming the seedling. Use your hand to judge what distance is too hot for your hand to bare and then move the light a couple inches above that spot.

Cfls dont give off much heat, tho i noticed the big ones do give off more than expected.. so to be safe u can do the hand method or to be safe jus go about 2 inches above ur plants u should be fine

That bulb is around 8" long, right? If so, I would put it at 7-12" away. Is it 6400k or 2700k? If the nodes start to gap too much, you could lower it, but I wouldn't go closer than 5". Those small 18-25w bulbs, like in the pic above, are the ones you read about that growers put real close.

1 cfl? setup an additional 10 23-40w cfls "christmas treeing" out. That +10 gallons of soil+plant food+love and time = 1.5 - 2.5 ounce harvest. Most cfls are fine 2-4 inches from the plant especially with a fan on them. but if you can the sun will make them grow exponentially faster.

Only thing i like cfls for?
cfls can be put right next to the stem stimulating branching near the light, meaning super lst and shaping of seedlings.
