cfl light question.

would 2 sylvania 6500k. 100w replacement. 23 watt actual work for vegging??

for how many plants? I would use at least 4 for 1 plant.

for 1 plant in a pc case

agreed, add a few more in there. ive got 3 seedlings that just broke soil under 3 cfls and it is no where NEAR what i need. i will be picking up more bulbs here very shortly, you will want to do the same.

for the first week or two, then you'll need to start adding more.

there's limited room in my pc case. heh. i've seen some grows done in pc cases that looked pretty well done. and it had one cfl. but idk much about cfl growing.

get a light bar, 4 of these, and 4 y splitters, you can now fit 8 bulbs in there and its gonna cost you under 20 most likely.

that means you need to get a ballast for it, their are 105w self ballasted cfls out there for about the same price, how big is your pc case? those bulbs alone are a foot long each and 4 inches wide, are u gonna have enough space to grow a decent plant in there while keeping the temps in check?

the pc is 17" long 20 tall 8 wide

you could veg a plant off 3 of them for a while. They are about 25 Watt/100 W replacement. Use 2700K for vegging

you'll only be able to use 1 of those 200w's then. in this situation i think your best move would be to follow my earlier suggestion and get the lightbar + y splitters+
things and do it like i said. its much cheaper and youll do just as well with more smaller lights for a grow area so small. plan on lsting and topping it, height isnt much to work with for your grow area, you'll have to make wide bushy plants if you want to get a good yeild from it.

Actually the 2700K's are for flowering. He needs 5000-6500K for veg.

agreed this is your best route. as for y splitters, what do those look like? looking to do this very same thing, except with a cupboard, wantin to pack as many cfl's in there as i can.

if your space is that small, you wont want to veg long. when you switch to hps, you might look into the plug-n-play type hps flood lights. you can find them at most hardware stores, and ive seen em as cheap as $22 on-sale. goodluck

i was gonna run one over the top and then 1 on each side. or something like that. and as far as hps lights go. they just produce too much heat. i actually have 3 y splitters laying around from an earlier attempt. heh. i just don't wanna be doing bare minimum i wanna have more light than would be required using cfls but then also they need to fit in the pc case. heh. but ill most likely do your suggestion with like 6ish 23 watt 100 watt equivilent bulbs.
