All the other buds are drying/curing, I'm just not proud of them.

During my first grow I planted some seeds. I killed all three resulting seedlings.
So I started one more try a few weeks later.
It turned out into the densest bush I'd ever seen in cannabis.
I liked him so much, I planted 10 more seeds.
His name was Mario, and when I found his balls I foolishly killed him.

These ten seedlings were named after friends of mine,
and in then end Fruit Hair was my favorite.
She was super squat and almost flat as a child,
vegged like the nicest Indica,
I decided to let her grow natural, since I liked her so much.
I'd rather see her do it her way.

And it taught me several lessons along the way. Overall, a learning experience.
It pains me to bring her down, but I have a clone vegging right now, and I'm pretty sure I like her enough to keep it.

Here's Xena in recovery from my trip to California.
She broke her LST ties, stretched out of control, and shed several leaves.

I've since re-tied her down, and she's vegging under 140w until she recovers and enters a growth spurt.
Then I'll switch to 12/12.
Come over and watch her in my Lemon Skunk journal!!

Bah whatever, glad to see you.
It was the first time I grew a plant out in it's natural shape.
Wasn't worth it to me in the end, but the donkey dick is pretty cool.

The bud weighed in at around 55g when I pulled it.
It's now down to about 35g.

I'm guessing it's going to be about 10g-12g dry.

Main cola now weighs in at around 25g.
I'm going to wait for it to shave at least another 10g before I start to cure.

Woke up this morning and it was dry all the way to the tip.
Bery little bending.

I haven't used a Digital Scale yet, I will on the final postcure weigh.
Until then I use a cheesy hanging scale that goes from 0g-250g in 5g increments.
This is just for rough estimates on wet product, I watched it go from 55g to 15g in a week.

The main cola weighed at around 15g, and the side buds weighed at around 3g-4g

So I'm guessing I'll have around 18g.
My goal was 14g so I'm getting there.
Next grow is my Lemon Skunk in the signature, the goal there is an ounce.

Oh and curing begins now.
I'm using a massive Spaghetti jar, and it barely fit.
Thank god it heatstressed and foxtailed.
I had to squish a branch under the lid, but it wasn't really bud, more like calyxes on a stick.

The top nug will be 'done' in 4 weeks.
The side branches will be 'done' in 2 weeks,
but I'll start smoking in 1 week.

No more natural plants for me, but I'm still gonna grow the donkey dicks.

ill be surprised if you got 12g from that. nice plant, was doing really good till the point where you decided to cut most of it up 2-3 weeks ago. you shoulda left all of that on, the buds swell up and pack on weight at the end, even the little lower buds that arent in the light. next time i would let the plant go all the way before you start chopping at it. that one pic you had where you were all excited about the top cola, yeah the top of the plant will develop a huge nug, but all the nugs leading up to the top are part of the top cola. by the end if you had left it alone you would have had something like this.

I left town for week with nobody to take care of her, the top nug got heat stressed, causing the plant to foxtail to extremes.
I had 4" branches sticking out the top of my cola, that probably had like 0.005 grams of bud per branch.
That's why I cut those out.

This was undetermined genetics, from god knows where.
Next round will be a familiar strain, that I will be able to predict much more.
I harvested when I did because some lower buds that made up the top cola, were beginning to amber from the bottom towards the tip.
It looked more like dying but I cut her then anyways.

I honestly don't believe I had a chance in hell to get a bud that size, and she was grown under about 100w most of the time.
Her side buds didn't grow like that, I wish they looked like regular sidebuds, but they were the ugliest buds I'd ever seen.

See how your side branch is like a golfball on a stick?
Mine didn't do that no matter what.

Oh I just noticed your lower texts,
First of all drop the negative attitude.
Secondly, that leafy first picture, is just the top cola, not the whole plant.
The cola you see in that lower picture looked the same as above.

I honestly didn't cut off as much as you think.
I know how pruning affects yields.

just a thought..if u were to get some socket extenders for your clamp lamps you could get more light on your plants...most cfl growers will also recommend setting the light more horizontal instead of directly at the plant.....i'm no expert just a beginner myself so all this advice i mainly gathered from more experienced growers here

I've got all the wattage I need, and all the bulbs I need.
All the sockets too.
I need no more lighting, but I do need to take a 42w bulb back to Home Depot, and get another 6" reflector to have a matching set of 4.
One of the 4 I'm using right now is old and worn, it's just temporary.

This plant was grown naturally, in it's regular Indica Christmas Tree shape.
I decided to wrap all the wattage around the main bud and let it do it's thing, instead of feeding lower buds.

The next grow is going to be a perfectly flat canopy, with 5 colas.
The lighting will be much more "horizontal" as you say.

In fact I'm going to be getting new pictures tonight for my current journal, as I tweaked it's setup and she looks really good.
Take care:leaf:

The bud is dry enough to smoke, but all the primo from the top nug is going to cure for a month.
I cut up that giant nug for sake of drying. Seperated the bud into three grades.

I came back today after a trip to find my Fruit Hair clone dehydrated.
It's looking grim but she's done it before.
I imagine she'll be fine in a few days. Maybe even more than fine.

All the branchwork and leaves just hang straight down like she's dead.
Second time now, sucks.
Wish her luck:leaf:

Fruit Hair's clone is in a coma, she has no growth points above ground, so at this point I'm maintaining a lifeless rootball. I don't know what's going on under the dirt but I hope she's still growing.
Maybe she'll shoot up like an old rose or tree, and maybe she'll die in a deep sleep.
Good luck Mackenzie!
