You don't seem to have a Journal going mate, just post.....turn it in a Journal and I will be happy to follow it. check your account and you will see that it sate under journal: "hasn't started bloging yet"[/QUO

i dont blog sorry . what your reading IS my journal if you look at the top of this page you will see its in the section of the forum called "grow journals" once you subscribe to the journal you will get notification everytime its updated.

on this site if you post something in the wrong area the "know it alls" point it out and admin even closes or moves your posts to the correct area of the forum so it would be closed already if it is not a journal , and all of my past grows are here in the journal section :)

thx drbudwannabe

cluster bomb clones are looking bad , i should have waited for better growth tips but i might be able to make it work.. everything else good. also im showing all the products i use. i also put the "outside" sensor from my thermohygrometer in the clone green house down by the soil to give nice accurate temp readings in the entire cabinet and just the temp inside the propagator seperatly.

once i get rooted and light up the flower chamber things will get more exciting but thanks guys for checking things out!

oh walmart now sells $12 200 watt cfls in 2700k spektrum they produce 6800 lumens so they should really be great i may try to add a few on my flower side light fixture to see if they stay cool. and the 4 packs of 2700k 100 watters is down to $8 with lifetime guarentee! i swapped out 8 of mine for new ones i just said the lights are not as bright as they should be and they replace them at no charge...

Thanks for the offer, might just take you up on that! Got 2 of the 4 seeds cracked right now so will be pretty soon for me. We have a lot of the same stuff, nutes, pots, medium so following closely. Going to run down to Walmart today see and I can pick up some of those CFL 200 watters.

thanks alot bud! When i started I made my own soil mix and i got pretrty good at it with great results. I used top soil from a tomato farm in the fall , playground sand , perlite , vermiculite , chicken shit , and a touch of Peters powder plant food 15-20-15 I based it on a soil recipe used by drbudgreengenes like most of my setup . After a few years in I found a hydro store close by and bought some Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil and gave it a try. Even though my mix was good when I switched to ffof my plants really took off , I get it for about $22usd per bag and one bag is all i need per season . I also switched from my own homemade compost tea and home depot nutes to the fox farms 3. bottle set and again even though mine gave me good results the Grow Big , Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom are really way better and only $35usd for all three. I only use 1/8th or less of each bottle per season so they will go bad before I ever get to finish them.

I could have saved alot of time and money by going with FF from the start thats why I try to get noobs to go out and do it "right" the first time , but I also support people with custom mixes as long as the end result makes them happy !

The 6500k bulbs usually are made by GE in a three pack and they are more expensive than the walmart brand 4pack but well worth the extra couple bucks because the plants love them :)

I got my first root from the clones today so i will be kicking it into high gear in the next week or so ...the worst looking clone in the bunch was the one that rooted first so the nice ones should be here in no time!

pics later or tomorrow!

I have scanned through 25-30 grow journals of fellow cfl farmers and 90% of them are chopping way to early. With cfls you usually need 2-3 weeks longer to flower than outdoor or HID grows. Im strictly cfl only now and I learned to let them go longer then I ever did before. Using the trichromes and a microscope can be great with some strains and very accurate but I find that with cfls they can be way too dark before the buds even swell. My buds get most of their weight in the last 3-4 weeks so cutting early can really destroy your yeild. Now I wait until almost all of the fan leaves drop and the buds are firm and heavy feeling . most of the "hairs" are brown and shriveled and the tiny leaves in the buds curl and get brittle..

I know you loose some thc when you over grow but its very little so go for weight unless you just want pretty buds for pictures :)

Also I harvest some plants in two stages if the bottom nugs are alot smaller than the top. cut off all fat and mature nugs and branches up top then drop the light down close and flower bottoms for another 2-3 weeks(while your rooting next batch) . when you chop the top on the main stalk the root system still sends alot of food and the bottom pumps up quick. The little poofy cotton balls at the bottom become fat and heavy quick and since your other stuff is dry by the time you cut the bottoms it also helps you stretch out your stash haha

about half of the clones are showing roots so should be in 1 gallon grow bags this weekend. Im really happy with the mothers they are staying short and tight so they will all produce a bunch of clones (prob too many) but trades will be plentiful so let me know if you guys want to trade clones or cuttings.

send me links to your cfl grows! im putting together a book / video tutorial for cfl growing . Im seeing more and more guys with cfl setups so i would like to do a Low Budget "how to" for all the guys starting out. These days you dont need tons of cash to put together a great and effective grow room . In fact most grows will pay for them selves with your cycle . If you can grow 5-8 ounces per run you will be saving all that money ! Most Real Dank goes for $300 to 500usd per oz(28grams) and you can build a dual chamber grow box for under $250 and you can find everything you need at any Walmart or simmiliar stores.

so i would like to use some other peoples pictures to show different size grows , lighting and vents, and all the other bs that comes along~ so close up shots with decent cameras and pics of homemade diy setups . i will give each picture a thank you comment with your "rollitup" name or whatever you want it too say. I will need guys to read through it as i go too so i can be sure it all makes sense and its easy enough for noobs to follow. if you guys want to help out and share pics and ideas that would be great too! Its going to be free (youtube and stuff) so anyone can can see it and hopefully some newbs can get all the info in one place, instead of finding bits and pieces on the web and trying to get things growing.

thanks dudes :) drbudwannabe

send me a pm maybe we can trade some things
what does that quote mean under your name? i know HALF TEN means TEN THIRTY in the states . but what is eating your bait? i learn lots of interesting shit from guys on hear from other countries, for instance a keyboard in the UK doesnt have a dollar sign"$" it has a pound symbol. and toilets down under dont flush in a counter clockwise swirl they just get sucked straight down :)

whenever i let the plants get really dry and they start to droop i notice that i have agressive growth spurts over night. i know that overwatering/feeding can slow your plants down or even kill them , but just how dry can we let them get? i let them droop a day or two ago and then fed them with a heafty dose of springwater and ff nutes and they blew up! im going to try to setup pics below to show the progress from one day to the next

IMG_0239.jpgIMG_0240.jpgIMG_0241.jpg

im not sure if you can really see it in the pics but this is from droop to spurt after a feeding. they really need that dry out time to grow quickly ! im going to try to let them get more dry before i feed. i guess the little bit of air that gets to the roots really helps them absorb a good shot of juice. i , like most people loveplaying with my plants so i guess i over water sometimes when i should just leave them alone :)

yeah - definitely a good idea to let them dry out as much as you can before it really starts to hurt them.

as the saying goes - treat em mean, keep em keen
