Oh yea, all right, oh yea, all right!!!

If any conservatives or teabaggers need psychological counseling, my office is open. I would Love to talk to you! Also, Ostriches are welcome too!

And as always. May the infinate wisdom of ultimate intellegence shine brightly upon you! :peace::peace::peace:

Honestly I don't mean to rain on this parade. But Im not really "happy" that it passed. Everyone with an opinion on the subject knows in their heart they are on the right side of this issue. Yet today one side woke up feeling absolutely shit on by the government. Regardless of whether or not I feel their reasons have merit, its still how a large number of Americans feel today. What is there to be happy about that? What do we as citizens gain by being so divided as a country? Just my thoughts...

Hey upnorth ... nice to see that you are so elated over centralized government control over your private health records.

Fourth Amendment: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Your elation may be short lived, as there are going to be many constitutional challenges to come. And don't forget, Karma is a bitch. Remember Obama's State of The Union address where he dissed the Supreme Court judges? Remember how the democrats stood up in unison and jeered/mocked the judges? Like the great Reverend Wright said ... "the chickens will come home to roost."

Wow! I'm surprised that you aren't dancing around with upnorth. I am obviously opposed to this, as most of you already know. Gloating is extremely immature and I'm glad to see that you aren't getting caught up in it. To upnorth I say enjoy your victory. It ain't gonna last forever. The democrats will be receiving their just reward this fall in the midterms. We'll see who's laughing then. :fire:

I'm not quite sure of that. May be if the people actually get the real facts behind this healthcare bill, they'd like it. The republicans and the insurance industry working in lockstep have gotten the people scared to death. Now that it is passed, (I'm pretty sure the insurance companies along with the business oriented republicans will try and repeal the thing) Maybe cooler heads will prevail. I, being of the left persuasion, also do not like the bill, BUT, it is a foot in the door for real change. The desirous result of course being single payer not for profit medical. I'll probably not live to see that day, but my grandchildren will, and be damned glad we put this bill into action. I must admit, the republicans run a better add campaign, and why not with Billions from the insurance companies behind them.

You have all the facts? I haven't had time to read all 2700 pages but you're right, I like a lot of what I hear. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. There will be negative fallout from this. The insurance industry isn't against this bill, if so it wouldn't have passed. This is a dark day for freedom loving Americans. Hopefully they don't start telling people they have to stop smoking or eating so much. After all, we know that this is one of the big things driving the cost of healthcare. Oh wait, they haven't done a damn thing to address cost! :wall:

That is true. But that is due to the lies, the misrepresentations, and the shameless scare tactics used by the republicans.

Truth be told, the demies did a horseshit job of counteracting the blatant, unrelenting lie machine of the right. I guess they were trying to play "nice". They did everything they could to bring the other side into the debate.

BUT!. . . The repukes would have NOTHING to do with compromise! They were complete dicks! Plain and simple. I am delighted that they got fucked in the end. They got precisely what they deserved.

The first order of business for the demmies should be to try to undo the lie machine of the right. If they are successful here (and I have my doubts) then the uneducated, ignorant, hillbilly teabaggers will be sent packing come this fall.

The repukes do it time and again. First the religeous right held the party hostage.

Now it is the dangerous, para-military, racist, sexist, homophopic teabaggers that are holding the repukes hostage. The majority of Americans do not want to be associated with this.

Demmies. . . You need to keep up the fight so more common Americans will understand how dangerous the teabaggers really are! They are dangerous to our way of life, and they are extremely dangerous to freedom.

LOL. Big deal. Spell check was off.
You are correct, it isn't a big deal, but the Irony is SOOOOO THICK that I just HAD to do it! Its kind of like Dragline's Avatar, the one with the poster that says" Get a Brain Morans!" and spells Morons wrong.

Yeah, you have a point. But I thought we were a bit more informal. Your point is funny and well taken.

I completely agree with this statement for the most part. The other republicans who voted NO not because of party affiliation, but of the merit of the bill before them do not deserve the rancor.

One good thing about it all, I can now dump my health insurance and just pay the government fine, then when I get hurt or sick I can just purchase insurance then. The insurance company cannot deny me coverage with the pre-existing condition crap anymore. Even if the government fine was $2,000 I will still save lots of money every year. Oh and all my well to do neighbors can foot the fucking bill for my treatment. That's what you get for making 200K or more per year you fascist greedy pigs. I suggest we all do it. The insurance companies will cease to exist, big sugar daddy Uncle Sam will take care of us all with its infinite wisdom and a printing press to pay for it all.

None of the benefits kick in until 2014 right? But the taxes to pay for it will hence forth be coming out of paychecks correct? Will it be like Social Security where all the taxes collected for the program are spent by the government right away leaving the account full of IOU'S?

the ones who are going to get fucked in the end are going to be the ones who get extremely ill or have a family member get ill and cant get the quality or speedy treatment that they deserve or think they deserve...hopefully it will be one of the members who voted for this reform..oh wait they are in with the gov and will probably be able to manipulate it to get what they want

I really wish the repukes, umm, republicans would have compromised. It would have been a better bill. One of the big things they talked about was tort reform; this is desperately needed. Now nothing.

I hope as this bill is tweaked, and I think it will be, tort reform will be part of the package. Problem though, many republicans are lawyers too!

The bill is far from perfect, but it IS a step in the right direction. In general, I am a bit left of center, but I really wish the right had more of a say here. I am a fiscal conservative. The republicans would have done their constitutes justice by PARTICIPATION. Their intransigence was their own undoing. The bill could have been better, but they would have none of it.

Check out the summary here before you do anything: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20000846-503544.html

There are some good things that take effect now. Some is put off to 2014 for a smoother transition.

Please tell me what in this bill will prevent the extremely ill from getting the care they need. How is coverage going to be impeded? Tell me specifically what part of the reform bill will cause this to happen.

This bill will help those people.
