They are in the same ballpark but i find them to be different. ECSD is pure fuel. Chem is pure pinesol. Both seem to almost be emitting fumes when you grind them up.
SD smells more in flower. Chem smell really comes on at harvest.
SD is more trippy.
Chem is more social.

Hey OMS....do you agree?

My medi is in flower...i posted a picture one page back.
Thanks for the info why do u think the medi plant is so cheap? Because besides his signature strains all his elites are 150-200 per 5 his medi plant is 10 for 100 is it cuz it's new?

sorry cali is too genetically unpredictable for me...i have tried
doc's chem d is an all around pefect plant...can be contained
use a carbon filter like normal ..its ok
Ben is a pia but i agree with his fert regimen
Agreed too many stories for me!!

Man I wish I could run that ecsd does the Chem smell bad enough that it can't be contained easily I read up some of uncle Bens stuff I see what u saying a know it all cocky snob lol he does have some interesting info though is the drain 2 waste like a passive hydro? You do not have to add cal mag? I also use Jacks good stuff for cheap only time I used them fancy nukes is when I was doing d.w.c I like hydro but it's hard to take care of its needs because I am at work alot. That pH can be a pain in the ass especially in late flower they eat like crazy constantly have to adjust pH ec ....ect . I only did it a couple times then went back to good old dirt however the c99 exploded in their compared to the sunshine mix.
Man that chem grows beautifully and does stink but as Doc pointed out nothing charcoal filters can't handle the pungent smell thats impossible to contain starts with a two week cure

My guess as to why its less expensive then his others is that he didnt have to put as much work into making them as others. Doc has mentioned how hard it is to get viable seeds from his Bubba Katsu and G13 making them more expensive.

So I ordered
When it comes to growing Uncle Ben knows his stuff but on just about any other topic, he has his head so far up his ass that you can smell it from here.

My method in a nutshell-
Drain to Waste Method
Soilless media like Promix, or coco, Etc.

Feed with nutrients every time you water but at lower doses. 200-400 ppm. Sometimes i give straight water if the plant looks like its healthy and giving it more could cause problems.

Ph to 5.7.

I use Jacks Classic because its good, inexpensive, and it has the proper N-P-K ratios. Don't waste your money on expensive nutes marketed to the MJ community....its a rip off.

Keep a close eye on leaf health and adjust nutrients accordingly. Flush plants in the first week of flower and again about halfway through the grow.....do it again later if it needs it.

Thats about it.

One key tip. If you see leaf damage take special note as to where on the plant it started...top or bottom, etc. That will tell you a lot about what your problem is.
Major and secondary nutrient deficiencies start at the bottom and go up......micro nutrients deficiencies start at the top and go down.

Burnt tips and edges are usually a result of salt build up and needs to be flushed.
So I am getting me some pro h.p have a couple questions if you don't mind.i see you say p.h to

Nice I just picked up some Promix h.p. I was going over your method and noticed you said Ph to 5.7 by this do you mean p.h adjusting as in using Ph up or down or do you mean check the runoff of the media? I know with coco you need to add extra cal mag or nutes made specifically for coco? I use regular tap water but I use a water filter that you would use for drinking water ...not r.o. I do have a e.c meter and Ph meter made for hydroponics also some Ph up and down so it would not be a big deal. Is this passive hydro? Sire or Gruber I appreciate any help or info you could give me I have only did d.w.c and soil I always thought Promix was soil. I have done tons of reading but everyone has different plays I'd rather talk to people that know what they Are talking about.

Promix is considered a soil-less media and therefore can be treated as Passive Hydro/Drain to waste/ etc.
You want the soil PH (run off) to be between 5.6 and 5.8.
Check run off and if it comes out at say, 6.4, then the next time you adjust your feed to 5.0. How many points above 5.7 is the same amounts of points you want to adjust below 5.7.....get it?
6.4 is 7 points above.......5.0 is 7 points below.

I dont use coco but it can be used.... i don't know the particulars.

If you use Jacks Classic Citrus Blend it has all the micro nutrients you need....including cal/mg.

I wouldn't be using filtered water but I have no idea if your tap water is bad........ but i highly doubt it. The background minerals in tap water are important.

Always check run off for both PH and EC(PPM). Salt build up will kill you faster then PH problems.

OMS is a master and could probably explain it better then I can....if he has the time.

Got ya basic adding and subtracting do I need the citrus blend or could I use the all purpose classic I ask because there isn't many stores that carry it here have to order online but if that's a must I will. I also have some 3 part flora general hydroponics on hand would this be better due to needing the pH low?it is buffered for hydro ranges

The Citrus blend has micros that the general purpose doesn't have. I order mine online.....

I dont know anything about the Flora GH but as long as the N-P-K ratios aren't all whacked out like a lot of other cannabis specific nutes it should be okay. And....it has to be okay to use with soilless media.

Also, I forgot one major pat of the DTW method......

When feeding/watering, always give enough to get plenty of run off.....and i mean plenty.

Wow I like the idea of this it sounds pretty simple I did pretty good with hydro but soil was less forgiving for me at least time wise. Have you done a complete start to finish with nothing but citrus or do you start with the bloom for the roots? I'm just grab that since you know it works since the other one is questionable with this limit. They do have a dtw feeding chart but I heard many say u have to add cal mag. I would rather keep it sweet and simple maybe I'll do a side by side see the difference . Do you feed right from start like hydro or do you give it a couple weeks like soil. I also looked at the bag and it says it has a beneficial fungi added starts with a m. Is this ok it's pro mix hp but has this added said it is for root boost. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me I seen your lab test and know your word is golden. I am younger so I am still learning. I have a couple problems with back pain insomnia and ptsd . I do not want to have to take have to take pills if I can deal with it in a natural way I have seen to many people become addicts and strung out all over having to take pain pills. That is why it stands out to me I think it could help me get some sleep. Most days I only sleep a couple hours a day no matter how hard I try to get some rest well damn I'm ranting lol your a real laid back dude..... some people get irritated when you ask a lot of questions......but if you don't have a person experienced to ask you will be trying to drive with no steering wheel.

I have the Jacks Classic-
All Purpose (20-20-20)
Orchid Special (30-10-10)
Citrus Blend (20-10-20)
Bloom Booster (10-30-20)??

I use them all at some point during the grow. However, I have seen some very good gardeners use just the 20-20-20 or the 20-10-20 all the way through the grow with nothing else. In fact, i have used the 20-20-20 for an entire grow from veg to harvest.

HP with beneficial fungi is good.....

Bloom for the roots at the start is a good thing.....i just treat the soil before transplanting with a small amount.

I feed the 20-20-20 or the Citrus 20-10-20 through veg (go with the 30-10-10 if they are getting yellow) and for the first 1-2 weeks of flower. Flush the crap out of them and immediately start with the bloom.
Forgot to add......I hit them with the bloom booster for a dose or two when the plants starts to form buds then back to the GP or Citrus.

Be careful when you start into the bloom feeding as it can quickly build up in the soil. If the plants start to look yellow during flower hit them with the Citrus, or the General Purpose, or if the are really yellow, the 30-10-10.

You can also blend them.
Sometimes I think they need the blossom booster but they might also need some of the micros that the Citrus has, so i give a 1/4 t-spoon of each.......or higher , depending on what they need.

I cant guarantee that the Mediplant will do the trick for you but its a good start. Sleep problems are very difficult and can be caused by different things. It might take a while to find the exact quality you are looking for to turn that motor off. Are your problems from having pain that keeps you awake or do you have racing thoughts and a mind that just wont shut off?

Good on you for avoiding the pills.

From seed-
Condition soil with a very small amount of Bloom Booster.
After germination, and the seed has broken soil, i wait for 1 week before feeding them anything. Only PH'ed water until then. Then after a week, I hit them with a low dose of 20-20-20. Approx 1/4 or 1/2 t-spoon per gallon.
I then alternate between the citrus and the GP during veg, bringing the dose up to 1/2 t spoon every feeding. When the plant is large enough you can up the dose to a full t spoon if you want. All plants are different and require different amounts. Use this as a guideline.
When transplanting, wait a week before starting nutes back up again.

Flower-
First 1-2 weeks it stays on Veg nutes.
Flush after 1-2 weeks and feed immediately with Bloom booster.
Continue with Bloom unless it starts to yellow or you get leaf tip burn. If it yellows, hit it with one of the Veg nutes, if not stay with the bloom. If it starts to burn or you get rust spots, flush the crap out if it and start over.

Nitrogen deficiency will start at the bottom of the plant with the lower leaves turning yellow and progress upward. Yellow starting at the top of plant is from something else....not nitrogen deficiency. You will want to hit it with the Citrus if you see that because its probably form a micro nutrient deficiency.

Continue with the bloom and /or veg nutes and then flush again about half way through flower. Start again with nutes right away.
Continue feeding until harvest but with progressively lower doses.

It is a little of both I was in a motorcycle accident and messed my back up its not so much racing thoughts it's more of nightmares and flashbacks. And yeah I refuse to take anything that will turn me into a slave for it . My town is real bad on that kind of things it's sad to see our generation on all these bad things when I was a kid we just smoked bud know they shooting needles and everything and anything else. I already have Jacks classic and the bloom booster I will order the citrus as well. Will I need the orchid as well our is that something you rarely use. Which store do you normally go to online I am not wealthy by any means but I am willing to invest if I can get better. Hopefully the medi will work if not I'm sure it will be great as a recreational smoke. I am also running a cut of mad kush from sannies it's Bubba kush ,white widow, and herrijuuna it is suspose to be a very powerful indica dom that is suspose to be good for pain and sleep. I know it might sound crazy but I had a very indica dom of c99 which is know to be very engertic up high but this stuff put me to sleep within a hour and a half I wish I would of cloned it but it was my first run ever. I used Kmart soil and Jacks grown under a led lol.

Yes...i rarely use the Orchid.

PTSD huh?

If the mediplant doesn't work, i've heard good things about the Bubba OG for PTSD, and I found it to be very relaxing and sleepy after the social part goes away.

I order my stuff straight from the JR Peters/Jacks site.........http://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jack-s-Classic.html
I think they have a list of vendors that carry it....you might find one in your area.
Its very inexpensive.

I have heard very good things about docs Bubba OG the Bubba leaning pheno being the one people seem to really like alot. I am OK some days but it is small things that trigger it. It is not related to the accident it stems from some very unfortunate things that has happen in my life that no person should have to see or go threw. They tried to get me on medicine for it saying it wasn't that bad so I tried it and it made me feel like a zombie and it just made me someone other then I really am. My wife said I became very distant and lost all ambition. It is hard to find a strain that fits both bills I have messed around with a few different ones and so far I have only found strains that only cover one issue and not the other. Not to mention I have adhd and add on top of that so alot of things have different effects on me then it would on others. I have tried sleeping medicine only to find it keeps me up even more. That is another reason I am looking for simple methods it can be rather hard for me to focus on one thing for to long with out getting backtracked..

Its a good question but I don't really have experience with DWC so I cant speak about this with any authority. I would say that you can make any method simple or difficult depending on any number of variables.

What really makes what i do easy are two things.....
1)Promix straight out of the bag...no amendments.
2) Jacks Classic nutes

If i wanted to make this difficult I could just change my nutrient brand to one of the many overpriced selections available. I was at the hydro store the other day and the salesmen tried to sell me a new clone solution that cost $70 for a 8 oz bottle (approx). He gave me the companies brochure showing all the products you "need" to make the best buds. There must be 10 different things you need to add on top of whatever your favorite base nutrient might be.
I guess this stuff might work but you would need a fat wallet to keep paying for it, and a science degree to use it properly.

Yeah....it might take a while to find the exact thing you're looking for but hopefully you get it on the first try.

By the way....you will find that the tub of Jacks that you purchased is going to last a long time. If you have money issues you don't have to buy the orchid. You will have really good results with just the GP and the Bloom. I would bet that your tap water has enough Calcium and if you need magnesium just buy a carton of Epsom Salts....cheap.
