Hate to open an oldish thread, but don't like to PM just in case other folks can benefit from the info..

You said you had been in contact with Barney- did he say anything about pheno's and CBD content? How long did you flower? they seem relatively small, but that might just be genetics. I've got some critical cure seeds otw from seedsman. Plan to hydro under LEDs.

Barney didn't say anything about phenos or anything other than the strain is not auto as stated on several websites. I flowered for over 8 weeks. I forget now. 70 days maybe. I grow with 150 hps so that likely has something to do with the size and quality of the buds. I have CBD Blue Shark in Veg right now. I like the pheno much better. Looks more indica.

There are a few videos on youtube where smokers review certain cbd strains.. You still get high and in theory there is less paranoia..

The jury is still out for me.. I have some cannatonic that has been sitting in my drawer for several months and I can't get myself to touch it. . What I don't like about CBD's is that they are Sativa and I'm not sure why that is. I grew two strains and I couldn't give the stuff away :) I'd prefer a nice mellow indica..

What is your hope that CBD's will do for you?

I was hit by a car and get real bad spasms in my back, broke my jaw in 3 places and broke 15 teeth out. Have metal plates in my chin and metal rods in my jaw for teeth implants. Im really hoping that it would be able to help the pain. I dont eat for days due to pain and cant sleep at night. Alls i want is something that can help me more.

Very very sorry to hear that.

Theoretically the cbd would build up in your system and help with pain. A good indica should do the same and help with sleep (Northern Light, White Widow, Kush etc.) . CBD strains actually have an affect where they make you more alert. Not good for sleep.

Have you tried tinctures or edibles or oils? Eating MJ seems to be the best for pain and sleep and the process of heating may produce more CBD. (I'm not a scientist, but I have tried this multiple times so take it for what it's worth)

I think you would really like and benefit from making coconut budder..

Simple technique:
  • Grind up some quality indica bud that you know went nice and long on the plant (Lots of ambers)
  • Warm some water in a large, tall pot. (Not boiling, but almost)
  • Get a mason jar.
  • To the Mason jar add 1 TBS of ground bud for every TBS of quality coconut oil.
  • Put the mason jar in the warm water bath. Allow to heat for several hours. Stir occasionally... Don't let water boil.
  • Strain through coffee filter to remove the herb. Keep in jar in refrigerator. Will stay good for a lonngg time.

Start (eat) with 1/8 tbs oil to find your dosage. Wait at least an hour before eating more.

I promise you will like this.

For trim maybe use 2-3 times more depending on the quality..

Another thing I have done is decarbed the bud before adding to oil. This is just an extra step that guarantees that your bud has been freed of the carbon molecule which in turn allows the brain receptors to absorb the precious cannabinoids.

Grind bud then loosely wrap in foil and place in oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes or until bud is dry..
Then add to oil and then into the water bath for a few hours.

Try some heavy indica..

Best

Hey all...Im not a big poster to the forums however I wanted to chime in on the CBD rich strains. I have had phenomenal experience with Royal Queen genetics (Euphoria and Painkiller XL). Both of these strains are easy to grow and produce some of the most fantastic cannabis I (and many friends) have ever smoked. Bud formations are solid and frost covered. There is a mellow but certainly elevated high with nice body relaxation. I have also grown out (twice) some CBD crew Critical CBD and was blown away at the quality. There are some fantastic advancements in cannabis breeding happening out there. I have also grown Cannatonic and was very disappointed in everything about the strain from growth habit, bud formation, effects, and so on. Royal Queen and CBD crew genetics are, in my experience, a consistent win if you are looking for 1:1 strains that will still make seasoned tokers stoked on your herb.
