Casing PF Tek Cakes with Verm vs. Coir

what'r the benefits of casing brf cakes after full colonization with coir instead of verm.?

i know verm contains water but no nutrients.
but coir holds MORE water and has nutrients.

is coir a better substrate to use for a casing layer on cakes then verm??

you dont want any nutrition in a casing layer

if you case with a nutritional casing layer it will colonize that layer instead of pinning, thats why non nutritional casing layers are used to provoke pinning and also to hold moisture and help with rh were the pins are forming

are you still spawning your cakes to some coir or poo?

If you do you'll want to spawn those cakes to something like coir or poo, it will colonize into one giant cake, then case with verm.

ahhhh i get it now.
i havnt cultivated for about 5 years now so imma just use the pf tek for my first 12 cakes.

imma try this verm casing layer and spawn with coir on the next 12.

ill post a journal once the cakes colonize.

50% verm 50% Peat moss
