Carbon filter dust when fired up system

I just hookup my Carbon filter and 8 inch fan and ran vented i through my 3 hoods and out the fireplace.

After running about 5 minutes i noticed black dust inside my hoods.

I am guessing now i should have run it for a few before venting through the hoods.

Any suggestions?

It happens with new filters or if there was carbon recently replaced. No worries should wipe that dust off the hoods though of course.
 
Is there any special type cloth i should use to wipe the bulbs down with?


The glass can be cleaned with any regular windex product?

I use windex on the glass for the hoods. Carbon filter dust...well...now you know for next time, so it wasn't a complete bust. I wipe down my bulbs with a clean sock...lol...probably not ideal, but I haven't had a bulb fail or blow yet.
