can't figure out my deficiency...

Your MG All Purpose and Happy Frog together are causing you problems. Happy Frog has bat guano in it to start with and the N of 24 in MG combined with HF is too much. Also, MG doesn't contain any calcium and Magnesium which your girls will need. Your pics show a bit of wrinkling on the leaf. This indicates a pH problem right away. When pH if off, calcium will lock out and then magnesium locks out then all hell breaks loose. Depending on what type of water you use makes a difference too with Cal & Mag. Find a way to get Cal & Mag to your girls and you should see an improvement. Be careful when using MG since it is hot and stays in the plant long. I would reduce the MG/water ratio and make sure you get good run off when you feed or water. You don't want the salts to keep piling up in the soil. Keep in mind, if you are only giving them 1/3 cup and not getting any runoff, when the soil dries the salts gets worse. You mentioned about posting something about clawing on your last grow. That would be from too much N. Good Luck.

Lol this I know. But is it the cause of the spots? At the end of the day the plant is disposable. Just bagseed. My main concern is figuring out the cause for future reference so I'm not just guessing at possible solutions. Ill repot again. It seemed to have at least slowed the problem before
Spots are a symptom. I'm not there to see what you're doing on a day to day, hour to hour basis so I can only guess what's going on. Being that you think you have a deficiency, is there something you've been hitting them with that you haven't told us about?

Never could find a label but did find a MSDS. The instructions say use only 1/2 tsp./gallon every 2 weeks, so my initial assessment is probably correct - they're reacting to too much salts, especially if your soil still has a nutrient charge. See any plant food capsules, pills, in that soil? Cannabis that's been overfed usually shows us by starting with copper colored dots. As the problem persists, more dots show which eventually consumes the entire leaf, and then it drops.

Your food also has potassium chloride, so if the plant is sensitive to chlorides......

Read the reviews, folks love this food. A commercial grower in Laredo is using it on 8,000 Mescal producing plants. Amazing! http://www.scotts.com/smg/goprod/miracle-gro-plant-food/prod70342/

When's the last time you flushed the pots? I'd give them a good drench of softened water and then a good drench of food at a rate of 1/2 tsp/gal. and watch the NEW growth. Ignore the old....damage has been done and it will not recover.

Good luck,
UB

Thanks UB. I always appreciate your input.

Nothing added I haven't already disclosed.

I've noticed you and a few other knowledgeable members pay attention to not only the N-P-K, but what kind of salt such as nitrogen nitrates vs urea for example. The more I can understand the basics the less ill have to bug you ;-). Any links or books you think would help in that respect? Your last reccommendation.

Actually just MG all purpose until I get my gyna gro sent.
I was looking over my posts at RM3 and couldn't find where this issue was brought up. I know I posted on the clawing from my last grow.
I am about to get involved in a side by side using this all purpose dry food(MG 24-8-16) against one of the top players in the nutrient game. We have not decided, either GH or AN will be the "victim". I see so much hype about all these products and honestly...its not even funny anymore. What we are trying to show is, not that one brand is better than another, no, but its is the ingredients and ratio's that is what is needed for proper growth. I can tell you for almost certain that between myself and the grower involved in the test will most likely have little to no difference between the two but time will tell. My grower uses 3 part AN and has a very good handle on their line of products. Together we bring a combined 50+ years to the table, so our outcome should not be bias or one sided. I will be starting a thread as soon as we pick a opponent. Hope you tune in. JAS

I'm definitely interested. PM me to let me know once it's up. something i definitely want to follow. Maybe nutrition is simpler than it seems to me but i really want to fully understand it. I'm the type that doing something just because it works doesn't satisfy me. I want to understand why. Eventually I'll wrap my head around it all. Happy people like you and UB are around to help with the learning curve

Sure, will do. If everyone would approach growing with your mentality, a lot of these myths would just dissolve. Sounds like you have a handle on it already. JAS

Thanks. I've still got a ways to go. It's a time thing. Less than a year ago I had never grown anything but facial hair lol. I'll keep at it though. Looking forward to the side by side.
