Been meaning to fix up this old canoe for years so hear she goes.
- repair holes in fiberglass with bondo's fiberglass repair kit
- sand her down real good
- clean with mineral spirits
-2 coats of rustoleums marine primer for fiberglass with sanding in between
-1 coat of rustoleum sand beige gloss topside marine coat
- bought four colors of rustoleum spray camo colors
- Black= I fanned straw out with my hands and sprayed
- Green= sprayed over leaf stencil I found on google, saved to pics,
and printed
-Brown= sprayed over stick stencil
-Kakhi= sprayed over marsh grass stencil
We will see how she holds up after a season of abuse.

whats that green stuff in the first picture?
Looks real nice.
I wonder what it would have looked like with cannabis leaves instead of oak(?).

Looks fun, we love ours but dont use it enough.

nice work +rep

I have had a few doozies. My last one was my favorite. It was an old Radisson with the foam pads around the outside.
Fucker was a Cadillac on the water. Now we have a new cheap pos from Duhnams. Been in it twice now.

Thanks guys, I mainly just fuck around out of the canoe. I never take a trip up north without it anymore no matter what the agenda. We use it a ton though, taking the kids out on the lake or usually 3 or 4 river trips a year, fishing, an occasional float into the spirit world with a few friends and some shroomies, took her from bay furnace to grand island and back for a morning doobie and some cofee with the beautiful wife on gitchi last summer. Normally always bring a rod or two but would love to hunt out of it in the future. Everyone should own a canoe, if if you only use the fucker once every two years.

It has been a couple decades now since I've partied on the river. When I was a teen we'd drive all the way out of the D by the dozens to where I live now, yet some how canoeing locally has not crossed my mind. I will have to look further into that once the weather breaks this year...

Took the freshly painted canoe out for her maiden voyage on sunday. I floated a small stretch of the upper parts of the river raisin. We traveled upstream just in case we hit an area that was frozen over. We hit a shitload of ice shelfs, ice burgs, went over two downed trees that rode the bottom hard and beat the shit out of the old girl for a couple of hours. The paint job held up good, there are 1 or 2 very small spots that were scraped down to the old finish and are hard to see unless your looking for them. I thought the damage would be much worse and I am very happy. Fished a bit too with no bites.
