Just purchased a cannatrol Cold drying and curing unit due to limited storage and harvesting space. Claim to fame is the ability to perfectly dry, cure and maintain buds at optimal Temps in order to keep the terpenes in the flower. You can runn full cycle and have them slope into curing or run solo and either dry and cure individually. Unit it's maxing out at 2.2 Lbs wet weight however on our test run we will use significantly less. Video and more pics to come

Congrats on the purchase. I see you decided on this over the freeze dryer Idea from a few months ago. So nice to have new buds to smoke so soon after harvest

Sick purchase, man! I'm harvest this week, so dry and cure is on my mind. Haven't heard of this, looks like something the wife isn't going to be too happy I found out about.

Looking forward to the updates.
gonna do an update tonight. I've selected a 3 day dry and 7 day cure cycle to see how it goes. I took samples today on day 2 of dry to try it out with the work crew to get some initial feedback before cure. super heady and nice. smells of dirty trizzlers, and a little lawnmower (NGL) but I attribute it almost all to the fact I left fan leaves on and its before cure. The buds kept the same smell as they tasted if that makes any sense. gonna roll a blunt tonight and try it in a different form to see of that changes things form me. so far I love what I'm experiencing from it. in 2 days the dry was absolutely perfect. still has a moisture content but the fan leaves were almost crackling off. I only got 56 grams so ill weight to see if were close to that 80% mark

She is not lol mine wasn't until she realized i wouldn't have to barter some of the harvest to others in order to have a place to appropriately cure and dry. last year i had to see 2 girls go because i didn't have anywhere to hang em so I had to "rent out" garage or attic space from friends .

Would've posted pics of the trizzler but it was gone FAST. Lasted all but 2 days. And nobody smelled the lawnmower smell (I'm attributing it to new machine smeell) but we went with at 4 day dry and a 5 day cure and it was nothing but

Tropicanna cookies on day 4 of dry and we're currently sitting at day 5 of cure. Much better flower than the initial dry batch we tested. There's actually Tropicanna cookies terps expressing now with the longer cure period. Still a little harsh but I find the hang dry before and my use of nutes late in flower contributed greatly. Proud of my work and even happier the machines not ruining anything it's just made the process better

How is the shrinkage of the buds in comparison to the fresh wet buds when they went into your machine?
id say with the short dry/cures I'm giving them now, at the most I've lost about 35%-45% to moisture at the most. I'm a shitty trimmer so it actually works out because they way the machine dries stuff it's almost like i could've left the fan leaves on and it would've dried it all the same just would've taken longer! i tried leaving a bud "Whole" and it needed maybe a day and a half to catch up with the dryness. Its helped me understand what an optimal dry is outside of the machine so now i can use that experience to gauge a regular ,unassisted dry. An expensive lesson lol but10 days isn't bad at all but i want to run this girl with a full harvest from my outdoor girl with a full dry and at least a 15+cure that's the real test

Im using an upper kitchen cabinet to dry. RH is bounces between 35 - 45 temp in the day gets hot tho our AC is out right now. Temp was at 85 today, and has been about 80 the rest of drying. Its been only four days but the buds smell amazing they lost their smell until today, did the bend test and it met my specs. Still a slight chlorophyll smell very very slight, nyc diesel so its hard to smell. Im starting cure am I too early?

The Chlorophyll smell and taste will leave with a good cure! Your going about the right direction. I usually hang dry from 24 hrs before I break it down into individual arms and hang them like I used to or how I can throw em in freshly wet trimmed. The strong terpene and cnanbis flavor and scent will only build if you cure after a good dry

yeah its now been 24 hours in a jar, I noticed a little bit of a wet plant smell so I took them back out for an hour temp at 78 RH 45% then put them back in and after another 4 hours I burped them and the smell was incredible.
