Cannabutter - Quick Question

Hello all.

I've just made my first batch of cannabis butter, I used 250g salted butter and 45g OG Kush shake/trim. Simmered it for just under an hour, and the sieved result is 100g of cannabutter. Is this normal? I pressed hard and squeezed every last drop of butter off of the waste trim. Is it normal to have less than half of the butter you put in?. The butter is dark black!

Thanks for the help.

I generally, if squeezing by hand, will lose about 1/4 of what I start with. It helps to squeeze it as hot as you can stand it. The cooler it gets, the thicker it gets.

Potato ricer
Use it with cheesecloth, available at the grocery store baking section

The above should be a link...don't know why it doesn't look like one.

When I start with one lb. butter, I end up with 12.5 to 13.5 oz cannabudder, also unsalted butter is recommended. When I use trim, I use 45g or so in a pound of butter, and it works quite well thank you. You started with half of what I start with and ended up with a third. Hold on tight and enjoy the ride.

Mine is always a very dark green until it solidifies, then it is a lighter green.

That is great Vostock...have never tried that...just might have to test it out
