Cannabutter...6 Hours?

Is it manditory to cook the...solution for six hours? If so does anyone know why? And another question, Why can the mix be cooled in the freezer instead of the fridge? How do those two things effect the final product?

I heat it for 6 hours, but that is in a crock pot set on low. Check out this recipe for Black Out Bud Butter:

well i think the 6 hour is bullshit iv been making butter for ten years and i have gotten the same results from ten hour. just dont burn it, i think its all in how you Xstract the thc from the stems leafs and buds

and you should always freeze it that push's the thc out of everything
