Canna coco??

Has anyone used this stuff? I am about to switch to coco coir from soil and I hear alot about this brand being pre buffered. Does anyone know how to prep this? Do I need to add calmag or rinse to it out. I was going to start out with rinsing off the perlite to clear from dust. Then to run some RO water. Through the substrate til I get it down close to 0. Then I was going to add canna coco nutrients to about 200ppm. But I don't know the dosage. Any help would be appreciated before I mess up these ethos seeds.

Coco has a lot of food in it already but its not a balanced diet for our girls. Thats the reason people tend to clean it out real good so they can start at zero.
When you water it the first time , you will add cal mag because the coco "holds on to ca and mag" and only releases it to the plants AFTER its own needs have been met. Once the coco has been presoaked with ca and mag then it will be normal medium and will not steal your calmag anymore unless the medium is depleted.

Coco is considered inert. There is zero food in it.

I just wanted to take a second to shout out canna Coco plus & their nute line, but mainly their coco (I think I could get same results with a different nute line) So far in my my entire run (about to be going on week 5 of flower), the runoff EC value comes out lower then the input EC! Sometimes up to 400-500 lower other times closer to even, but always lower! It literally says on coco for cannabis that this is an anomaly. My thinking behind this is it is just really good Coco which is why it doesn’t allow for buildup. Can anyone explain the reason behind this happening, other than it’s just really good coco?

I use Canna Coco Professional. Although prebuffered I rinse a low nutrient solution through it. Around 300ppm-400ppm. This cleans the fines out and I can ensure that it's fully buffered and at the ppm I want it. My last grow I did a plant without perlite. It grew just as well as the perlite mixed coco plant if not better. I won't use perlite again. It's just not needed.

I've always used it straight from the bag without any problems but the ec dropping in the run off hasn't escaped my attention, so yes I know it's holding onto something and buffering with calmag stops that happening ime.

Probably need to up your base nutes or increase your fertigation intervals.

So what do you guys recommend on dosage,ec,ppm of calmag?. I use calmag plus. I have a truncheon meter I just bought. Not really expert yet on how to read it.
