Why is the kid in the cage? I am confused. Netflix sucks anyway, youtube has better movies and youtube movies suck.

Doesn’t look to me like the kid is in a cage, looks like a gate that you would put in a doorway or possibly the pic was from inside the cage..... I just can’t see the other side of the cage from the pic but I can see into the room with other people in it.
Not trying to be a dick but we have a temporary barrier to keep the grandkids out of the kitchen while I cook so that they can’t get burned and they will hang on it just like that kid in the picture and give you sad faces even though you are less than ten feet away in plain site.

As a father of an impressionable 7 year old girl, and having not watched the movie or even known of its existence until this thread, I think the plot as outlined on IMDB is pretty relevant to the world we live in. I'm pretty much horrified everyday with what media shoves down her throat in regards to beauty and normalcy.
