Variable temps and Canada seem to go together... we try and generate heat in the winter, get rid of it in the summer and hope that spring and fall arent to stinky when things are just right...

My last grow I had wild temp swings, fluctuating nutes and didn;t understand the plant as well as I should and overcrowded the ladies in bloom... on top of the temps and the nutes so hopefully it shows in the yeilds... I am going to use 3 times as many bamboo stakes and do a lot of LST so i can use the light better...:weed::joint:
I hear ya about the damn temps it's really hard to keep them optimal around here, right now my closet is at perfect temp (knocks on wood) but in the summer......oh man can't keep the temp down, I have to do cfl grows and as well as outside...
So it sounds like you learned some things since last grow eh? Never ending learning experiance.
Lst is the shit, I'll never go another way again.
thanks for stopping by and thank god for Canada lol
keep it green

keeping detailed notes and reminders and a lot of research surely help... I may have rushed a couple of plants and cut them down too early... still good smoke... and I certainly overcrowded the grow tent.... this time I hope to let the lowers have much more light.... the white russians flower top to bottom and I plan on getting a much better yeild... I also changed my grow medium from all promix to 50% promix, 45 % canna, 5% earthworm castings with some bat guano throw in... so far the ladies are very healthy and are drinking quite nicely... am going to let them grow another 8 inches bigger than last grow when I flip them. The white russians don;t get as leggy as the chronics did...:weed:

I water with raw bat guanno after the first week from seed to the 3rd week and then use my MG, then N in it gives them a great start. Next time I think I'm gonna mix some right in the soil, what do ya think?

yes it seems less is more with these girls, but they're tough, I've put some of my plants through some tough times, like the mother honey dew I'm growing now, it's the bigger one in the pics I posted today, it's a mother I've had since March or April of last year, and I even had it under an indecident bulb for awhile and look at her now she's back and beautiful. Very tough plants, most of 'em.

roger that! The lower branches look so nice and healthy once they start to catch up, growing straight up like that and not having to bend toward the light so much, and yeah, it looks way cooler!

whats ur Opinion on Scrogs? i've been thinking about doing one soon, possibly even preparing an outdoor scrog for the patio summer 2010:hump:
fill me in hardrov:weed:
well, I decided to make and throw a screen on those little bitches, 3rd day of flowering. I have 1 question though, isn't it going to be hard to water them when they grow through the screen? Here's some pics

A Canadian bloke is walking down the street with a case of beer under his arm.
His friend Randy stops him and asks, "Hey Dave! Whatcha got that case of beer for?"
"Well, I got it for my wife, you see?" answers Dave. "Wow," exclaims Randy, "Great trade."

Day 2 - Vancouver Blizzard 2005 - Revenge of the Commuters

Chilled Vancouver commuters faced their second day of winter hell today, as an additional ¼ centimeter of the peculiar white stuff fell, bringing the lower mainland to its knees and causing millions of dollars worth ofdamage to the marijuana crops.

Scientists suspect that the substance is some form of frozen water particles and experts from Saskatchewan are being flown in. With temperatures dipping to the almost but not quite near zero mark, Vancouverites were warned to double insulate their lattes before venturing out.

Vancouver police recommended that people stay inside except for emergencies, such as running out of espresso or biscotti to see them through Vancouver's most terrible storm to date. The local Canadian Tire reported that they had completely sold out of fur-lined sandals.

Drivers were cautioned to put their convertible tops up, and several have been shocked to learn that their SUV's actually have four wheel drive, although most have no idea how to use it.

Weary commuters faced soggy sushi, and the threat of frozen breast implants. Although Dr. John Blatherwick, of the Coastal Health Authority reassured everyone that most breast implants were perfectly safe to 25 below, down-filled bras are flying off the shelves at Mountain Equipment Co-op.

"The government has to do something," snarled an angry Trevor Warburton. "I didn't pay $540,000 for my one bedroom condo so I could sit around and be treated like someone from Toronto."

What's the definition of a Canadian? - A disarmed American with health care...
When a Canadian thinks of Hell...he wonders what the heating bill must be.
An Ontarion, British Columbian and Newfee were on top of a cliff. Suddenly, with a puff of smoke a genie appeared before them. The genie told the three men that if they jumped off the cliff, they'd land in whatever they yelled as they were jumping. First to jump was the Ontarian. He accelerated towards the edge, jumped as far as he could whilst yelling 'MONEY!'. Sure enough, he landed in a mountain of cash and was filthy rich the rest of his life. Next up was the British Columbian. He ran as fast as he could, jumped off the cliff and screamd, "GOLD!" Sure enough, he landed in a huge pile of gold and was an instant Billionaire. Then the Newfee ran as fast as he could, reached the edge of the cliff, tripped over a rock and screamed in pain as he fell downwards... "SHIIIIITTTT!!!"
An American, a Scot and a Canuk were in a terrible car accident. They were all brought to the same emergency room, but all three of them died before they arrived. Just as they were about to put the toe tag on the American, he stirred and opened his eyes. Astonished, the doctors and nurses present asked him what happened. "Well," said the American, "I remember the crash, and then there was a beautiful light, and then the Canadian and the Scot and I were standing at the gates of heaven. St. Peter approached us and said that we were all too young to die, and that for a donation of $100, we could return to the earth." He continued, " So of course, I pulled out my wallet and gave him the $100, and the next thing I knew I was back here." "That's amazing!" said one of the doctors, "But what happened to the other two?" "Last I saw them," replied the American, "the Scot was haggling over the price and the Canadian was waiting for the government to pay for his.
" Seeing 2 dogs doing the deed, the embarrassed Canadian teacher tried to explain this to her students. "You see, the dog on top hurt his paw, and the one on the bottom is taking him to the doctor." "Oh, I see," said on of the students, "Just like in the US, try to help somebody and they screw you every time...
" Why does a Canadian cross the road? To get to the middle.

Well is there any way to insulate your grow box or is it in a room? Put some heating pads under the pots? Do you leave the fans running all night? If you have more than one going you could but one on a timer and only make it come on in the day. I don't really know man. Just a couple ideas
Re-ducted to heat better now. How important do you think keeping off ground is. One room i keep off ground, other new flowering room I haven't done anything to raise them yet but they seem to be doing alright. Heating pads would add to my power bill so not my best option-I run my furnace fan, intake, exhaust fans 24/7 already which normally works but my basement is drafty and cold in the low temps.:hump:Have two rooms that work together-200W cfl for veg/400Whps flower, and 2-600W hps for flower in separate room. 400 runs in day, 600s at night.
