We woulda sold it to asia anyway, a lot of our oil goes directly to japan
That's not the point. Japan is a main ally. China is not. Our direct neighbor will start dealing with China as a direct result of the POTUS's horrible decision making.

ok in that case I agree, I am also upset Japan will not be getting more oil and that instead it goes to commies. I would prefer it went to us though.

This was the first thing Obama has done right:

They wanted to run this pipeline through environmentally sensitive areas without any environmental impact studies. US companies have not been allowed in these areas as they are too environmentally valuable, but you want foreign companies to be allowed to profit from trashing the American landscape?

This is why the US is in such a mess – you just repeat what your chosen party promotes. Why not research before you spew your uninformed rhetoric and you may learn that you are being played the fool.

Amen, and if you can't handle touching environmental issues with a 10ft poll because it is often times a big sham then I think people yelling "Drill Baby Drill!" need to take a look at where the oil we drill for goes to currently...It all goes overseas so drilling more doesn't really help us one bit.

Wrong.... This pipeline was the MOST studied project in history being over 3 years.

Wrong.... The pipeline would have been able to be re-routed around the supposed environmentally valuable area and still let us drive our cars for less than $5.00 per gallon.

Our country is in a mess because of uninformed people like you.

Thanks for playing

Yes, it all goes overseas because we use 0 oil here in the USA...

You might, like I suggested above do some research.

There has been no environmental impact study completed for the Sand Hills of Nebraska.
I do not want my environment destroyed so a foreign company can sell its oil to other foreign companies. I also oppose using eminent domain to take land from Americans to give to foreign companies.

There are over 25,000 miles of pipeline crisscrossing the USA currently. Enough to go around the world....

Could you explain to me why this pipeline, which is no different than those pipelines need more study?

Let me save the taxpayers the money. If the pipe breaks in the middle of the Sand Hills of Nebraska it would be bad. But we can shut it off and clean it up.

If a Chinese tanker ruptures and sinks off the coast of Washington because it filled up at the new port opened by Canada there is shit we can do about it.

Environmentalist wackjobs will find a reason why we cant drill anywhere (like in the middle of nowhere in the frozen wastes of Alaska). There is always someone who is angry at man for being human.

Foreign Governments Drill all over the USA - It is not even tracked but I have seen them in the south with my own eyes.

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/no-answers-interior-department-number-foreign-companies-drilling-oil-and-gas-us

A Florida lawmaker wanting to find out how many foreign-owned companies have leases to drill for oil and natural gas in the U.S. was surprised to learn that the federal department issuing leases does not differentiate in its records between companies owned by foreign governments and others. Republican Rep. David Rivera has been trying to establish the number of foreign-owned energy companies drilling in the U.S. but has been unable to get that information from the Interior Department, the agency responsible for granting leases for onshore and offshore oil and gas operations.

Yes, because walking to work is underrated...

I know, lets all get electric cars that need to use electricity from coal and oil power plants.. yeah...

Or live on solar electricity except you cant have A/C or Refrigeration or a big screen TV with solar. But it will run your green laptop!!

Here is the deal... We use these forms of fuel because they are relatively cheap. When they become expensive (either artificially due to Obamanation or naturally due to supply and demand) we will switch to something else. I know everyone wants startrek right now but it is not possible.

Give me a solar panel that will power my house for about the same cost and I am right there but we havent gotten to that point yet.

I have a couple questions though, and yes, this time I am actually hoping for aanswers because I don't know and this is your thread and I'm interested.

What do Nebraskan citizens have to say about this? I would think they have a bigger say than Harper or Obama.

Why shouldn't I believe that Harper is trying to give the GOP something to work with? Why should I not believe that he is simply trying to help American Neocons defeat Obama by giving them political ammo? It may sound crazy to you, because I think you are seeking anti-Obama arguments, but humor it, you did start the debate.

I assume this whole thing is based on Gingrich's comments and I would just shoot it down closed-mindedly as BS from a BSer, but an even bigger BSer is involved in this story with Harper being quoted. That begs the question, Why would a Neoconservative member of the British Royal Family, ardent Bush Ally and staunch opponent of Canada's Medical MJ sell oil to the Chinese? I think he is bluffing just to make some anti-Obama news which I don't mind if it helps Ron, but the GOP hates Ron. I resist the political maneuverings of those who I think would persecute me.

Yeah, going to take some getting used to. Get started getting used to it.
Obama will be out and with all the damage he has done to the green energy program (soylndra, etc) he will have gone quite a way to get American sentiment towards drill baby drill..

Thats what you think but liberals think this makes Obama look good so its all just sham, just like the fact you seem to think the government gives two shits about you and your prosperity the liberals think that the government gives two shits about the environment..What a cruel joke on everyone. They don't give a fuck about us or the environment, only stuffing their own pockets and winning elections.

Earth has a finite supply of fossil fuel. Sooner or later, people will need to learn to live with out it. We are already fighting over it. Blaming Obama today does not change this.
