can you use left over weed for edibles???

hey was wondering if you can use the left over weed from blast bho to make cannabutter or edibles???

no. there is less than .5% thc left.

you cant turn chicken shit into chicken soup.

ok so can anyone with a lil experience chime in... I can still break up a bud and have a bud smell.. (I didn't grind my buds up before blasting) I was hoping to grind them up and make butter..

Always grind before blasting, then tube, freeze and extract.

yeah no shit snapps, I got that part down now and got and increase of 1.5 grams per run.. I was only getting 2 grams per 3/4 of an oz.. now that I grind it up I get 4 grams per run.. I have several oz's that are still chunky. and was wondering if ther is still love in the middle of the buds

Grind, repack tubes, run again and get what's left, purge and add to oil of choice to make snacks.

Decarb at 250f for 20 minutes after adding to your cooking oil of choice, coconut, olive, peanut, veggie...

There really isn't any value in the material once it has been blasted. I've done 2nd run blasts on 30g and got back a dab... so .1 maybe...

I should note I do the long soak so it's in butane for 30-50 mins until I filter it.

We experience a 1-3% return from "2nd" run nugs using the freeze everything method both runs.

It is typically more sleepy and less high..... We usually "2nd run" great nugs only....

I agree with snaps, I would run it then add to food if I was going to do what you suggest. The flower to oil/butter ratio would need to be so high to make the snacks worthwhile.

We've found the potency more predictable and taste profiles better, just repacking and running again to glean anything we missed, though with a bi-flow CL system, it is seldom worthwhile.

As I see it, the control points for Medibles include purity, visual appeal, flavor, texture and potency.

Purity would be diminished by the presence of any residual solvent picked up, plus the ratio of targeted elements to non targeted elements extracted changes, when you take away most of the targeted elements in the first extraction.

Visual appeal may be difficult to maintain in some medibles where the ratios of fat or oils are increased to meet potency requirements.

The flavor of residual solvents and non targeted elements affect flavor.

Texture is also changed by the fat to other components ratio of the recipe.

Two issues on potency. The first is that the cannabinoids and terpenes don't extract in direct proportion to their levels in the plant, because of their different molecular weights and boiling points, so the second extraction will have a higher ration of the heavier molecular weights, and higher boiling points. In my experience those heavier elements are more sedative, with less head effects.

With most of the targeted elements removed, you have to reclaim large amounts of material to approach the same potency using oil or glycerin, because you can't condense them once they are saturated, to increase concentration. You are at best left with a saturated solvent.

ok so just an fyi.. I took my 1/4 lb of nuggs that had a single run of butane the air dried and ground back into the freezer ,then grinded them up to a finer product (nuggs still had full trichromes inside ) and de-carbed at 200 for 20 minutes.. loaded that up in 4 layers of cheese cloth then put on low in the crock pot with 2 lbs of fat butter for about 4 hours and then poured product into a bread pan with parchment paper, afterit cooled over nite in the fridge I puled the paper and block o butter , drained the water from the bottom and wala block o canna butter..thank you to all who discouraged me from doing this..NO ITS NOT THE WAY U DO IT OR AS POTENT AS YOURS but its mine and the next time I will use fresh nuggs and then it will be too potent..lol THANK YOU TWITCH FOR THE INSITE YOU ARE AN EXTRACT GODDD

You're welcome Bass! Given the ostensible disdain behind your salute, I'll do my best to not offer you further insight.

The answers you received never said it wouldn't work, only gave insight on what in our experience would be the most effective and efficient way to glean residual resin and more readily identify the amount extracted for the purposes of potency computations, as well as noting that the terpene ratios, as well as the diterpene cannabinoids ratios will be different in the second extraction.

Seemingly nothing you wanted to hear, or heard.

Do I infer by your hubris that you have lab results demonstrating that the information you were offered was untrue, or are you offering your best anecdotal opinion with feeling?

As a tongue in cheek thought, have you considered that if you have substantial resin left in your material after extracting the first time, your primary extraction procedures may need refinement, and with the refinements, ostensibly this conversation wouldn't be taking place?

Another is whether you making this for yourself or others?

Will you tell the others that it was made from plant material that had been previously soaked in butane, so they can decide for themselves, or will you keep that detail to yourself because you are so sure?

OK folks, as one prone to etoh inspired rants from time to time, I might suggest that we hold our horses for verification of intent or recant.

I say this stressing the lowercase "lol" at the end of the quoted statement.

your all right ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ fade ,snapps, and anyone else that put there 2cents in on this post.. my bad I recant anything that I may have said to disrupt the works of the extract kings and queens on RIU .. yes it was that I didn't want to hear it wasn't worth it.. after looking over my product with a 40x loop I still had full trichromes so yes I did use the material that had a single can run thru an oz of un broken buds, this is for me and me only and would not give anyone else a product that I don't trust or ingest myself.. again thank you for your input..

No kings or queens that I'm aware of here, only folks sharing the advice you asked for. Some more experienced and educated on the subject than others, but clearly no heads of state or deities.

Like all advice, brothers and sisters seeking knowledge use what advice they can and discard the rest. Since actions are what folks see and infer intent, your verbal dismissals with high signs, appeared more focused on you feeling good by discounting the value and feelings of other.

Ostensibly, giving those the high sign who attempt to help you, but don't tell you what you want to hear, is counter productive if you ever want input from them again or them to respect anything you might offer as valid, given the image of arrogance and ignorance you project to them.

Also, not giving anyone else a product that you don't trust or ingest yourself is admirable, but means nothing if you are indiscreet in what you are willing to ingest yourself.
