Can You Use General Hydroponics Nutes in Soil?

Hydroponic nutrients, be they organic or synthetics, are going to be high in nitrates. What you pour into your soil goes straight into your local ground water. Not to mention that over time it will begin to wreak havoc on your soil.

If you have to use them, it's better to use them as a foiler treatment by mixing it at 1/4th strength and spraying the leaves. Use hydroponic nutrients and synthetic fertilizers in containers or in similar closed systems like DWC. For soil gardening, stick with organics which means use lots of compost and mulch.

There is a new product, X-Nutrients, that when I called them up, they said that I could use them just as I use my current product, (Fox Farms). I have been using it the same as I do with FF, on a couple of my plants, just to make sure, and so far, I haven't notice any differences. I am going to keep up my experiment to see for myself, all the way to the end, and then check the 'Differences'............ Of course, I'm soil by the way....
