Can you identify a stain by seed features?

So I've been saving seeds for a hot minute (probably 2-3 years), so my question is (i've searched but I might not be wording it right) can you distinguish the strain by any type of seed markings? If not I guess it will be a surprise with every grow.

How good is your eyesight, and unless you have an idea over what strain the origin is you can see with even this pic that quite a few can be very similar so, well, enjoy the surprise as that's better than a shock

Telling a strain by what a seed looks like is where tall tales are born.

Best to just grow it out and look for plant characteristics. .

More than likely your not going to be able to tell. Ive gotten bag seeds that look almost identical to most of those. Lol im with Fubard, enjoy the surprise.

Well, some are pretty distinctive but even then that doesn't mean all seeds of the same strain look the same so, well he gets to have a nice surprise every time.

May as well ask what sex it is by what the seed looks like.

Thanks for the feedback, The seed photo looks pretty cool. Guess I wont be pulling out the kids microscope to take a look. I've started labeling my new seeds so at least I'll know what some of them are. But the rest will be a fun surprise.
