Can You Convert an EZ Clone Machine

It seems like you could use a ez clone machine to grow a few small or even a single plant to completion inside one of these. I have one that I don't use, as I prefer the tried and true OG rockwool method, so I am looking for a way to modify it into an aeroponic grow system. Has anyone done this before who could offer any tips? I was planning on just using a three inch net pot and hydroton clay pebbles to put the rooted rockwool in and then just changing the nutrient mix as required (assuming the hydro instructions are the same as aero, as I have never grown aero before). Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated, as I hate to see this expensive thing sit in a corner gathering dust, but I never take 30 cuttings at a time and my rockwool method is already 100% successful for me, so I want to do something with it. Please Help if you have done this before.

You could totally use an ez cloner to completion, and you don't even need rockwool or anything.
Just give it the right nutes/lighting and you should be fine to do a little scrog or even a couple of
bigger plants. I've grown plants out in aerocloners before and it basically just becomes a half dwc
half aero unit depending on your water levels. I've had up to a 4' flowering plant in those 2" neoprene
plugs and with the help of some string things didn't fall over or have any problems.

I knew someone out there had done it. So what you're saying is basically just don't use the net pots and hydroton, but just let the roots flourish. Basically change nothing to the structure of the machine, just change your solutions out as necessary and as they get bigger the roots will kind of hang down into the nutrient solution, unless I keep lowering the water level, but that can be only so much. Thanks alot for your answer. Let me know if I got something wrong.

Well, I don't have experience with the ez cloner itself but I use the ez cloner plugs
for most of my grows. If the plugs are placed firmly in between the plastic then
I'd say you'd be fine, but if the plugs just sit atop the plastic then you're not gonna
have much base support.

i would just use the netpot and neoprene cover, no hydroton or any kind of medium at all. kinda like in the pic... you could also cut the bottom completely out of the netpot if you wanted...
