First I'd like to say thanks, this forum has FINALLY gotten me to the point where I have my first very very nice :weed: personal grow. 4th harvest....first 3 I made mistakes and looked on here for answers....and found them...and then some...the ideas you guys come up with is amazing creativity at best. Thank you all!!

My question is this. I am now taking the right steps to create a mother plant in this batch of seedlings....but I have this plant 4th week into flowering that is just freaking amazing...HUGE fat buds already ...it bushed out and created all kinds of bud nodes and ..well ...its just a beaufiful plant. Huge yield...I'd love to recreate it. Mind you I'm working off bagseed as I didnt want to spend money on quality seeds till I was ready.

Can I take a clone from this to create a mother plant?

Yeah you can take clones whenever, it will just have to reveg. If you want to keep this plant around you can also look into montsercropping, which is revegging a plant after harvest, to either veg her a bit and flower again, or to get a quick batch of clones.

Yes you can take a clone from a mother plant thats flowering, it will stop flowering growth for about a week or so due to stress.. My recommendation is just the day of harvest cut the plant down then immediately cut some of the bottom sets of foliage off and make clones, Dont waste that extra 1 week of flower production, it could stunt yield 10-20%.

My most recent batches... on the right are some I just took a few days ago from plants that are like 20 days into flowering, you can see the pistils on some of them... and they are all nice and perky :D

the plants also have different hormones while flowering. these hormones make it harder to clone. it can be done though
The longer into flower you take the clones, the longer they will take to root.

I've done it at 4 week into 12/12, you have to make sure you don't overwater.etc., i.e. you better have your cloning procedures down pat.
