Can you bring outdoor plants indoors without putting them under a grow light

i have 10 outdoor plants. One plants is a male, 5 feet tall, very healthy. I brought it indoors and put it by my big windows. Will the sun coming in be enough. I really don’t want to set up a grow light for one plant. I want the male for the seeds.

You're not going to get seeds from a male plant first off. Gotta put his jizz on a female for that. Secondly it's a very risky thing to keep a male on the same property as female plants you don't want pollinated. Yes it would live by a window. It's not going to flourish like it would outside by no means. Live? Yes. Flourish? No.

You could collect a little pollen from the male then kill it ...just tap it on a flat surface and scoop it up ...water will deactivate the pollen

If you just want some pollen you don't need the whole plant. You can cut off a few top branches and stick them in a glass of water so they drape over a sheet of tin foil to catch the pollen. I set that up in a closet with a 23W CFL light on 12/12 over a cardboard box lined with foil on the bottom.

Once flowering, males don't need much to give out pollen. Just clean it and save it in a vial or small jar to go out and dust a few lower buds on the plants you want to get seeds off off.

I have done it plenty of times so know it works fine.

Happy pollen chucking!

You just need to keep him alive until the pollen sacks are ready. The window will be fine for that long.

No seeds from males just pollen once you sprinkle the female with the pollen then you would get seeds

dude if you bring one single (microscopic) female mite into the house it can become an infestation in a week and ,to boot, two spotted spider mite are prevalent in the late summer, outside they have predators but indoors they spell disaster , they have 4 different stages of growth and they cocoon themselves emerging even more resistant to any chemicals at every turn.
they are tougher than a russian grandmother.
some guys have had to move house to be free of them entirely.

if you collect pollen from the male, put it in a small airtight container with some desiccant and put it in the fridge till you want to use it. you don't want to try to pollinate one of the plants you have growing now, unless you're sure the seeds will have time to mature
