Can we grow in trash bags?

I'm considering using 30L trash bags as opposed to pots for the sake of saving money indoors.

Do you see anything wrong with this idea if I don't need to move them around much?

I would just poke holes near bottom through the sides for the water to drain and I'd also put some clay stones into the bottom of the bag.

I'd look into the contents of the plastic, some is recycled bad stuff, or chemical treated, other than that hell yeah!

You will not be able to move them at all once they are filled

Probably bad idea, yea...

But the thing is that I will need to get them tomorrow. No chance by ordering anything.

I just figured the cheapest way should be DIY fabric pots. Really simple to do.

Only thing is that I'm worried it may dry up roots too quickly if I make it out of landscape fabric.

I want them to be similar to regular pots in terms of functionality.

Why do you need them by tomorrow? Patience is a virtue, especially in our hobby here.

You say it's 'about' time. That means there's no hurry. I've never seen a case where you couldn't wait another few days to transplant. Are they going to die if they don't get repotted tomorrow? Chill, Winston.

They won't die but they are rootlocked and should be transplanted within few days if you're really asking this. Anyway, I live in europe and ordering from anywhere doesn't fit my plan for your information.

ever plant I grow is always root bound, from right after rooting to right after flowering, always root bound, like every container plant is eventually. marijuana likes to be root bound, thats when the real growth begins.

DIY fabric pots work well.

The recyclable heasin type supermarket bags also work well (if u guys have a ban on plastic shopping bags like we have were i am, then they are cheap and readily available)

Plastic garbage bags break down to fast and tear (ok for gorilla grows)

If worried about medium drying out to fast then add Kitty litter (the clay one not the paper type) its cheap and holds moisture.

Trash bags rot and breakdown ..... if your in farm country and can get feed bags they work well ..... here anyways lol. We used feed bags for years doing gorilla grows.
