Can these lights be used to grow?

You can, but for alittle bit more money you can get a whole setup with hangers, timer, a dimable ballast that supports both MH and HPS and lot higher wattage bulb on ebay or amazon, unless you are dead set on a dedicated 100 watt MH

I just prefer to get my stuff from brick and mortar stores. I hate having stuff shipped. IDk why. Always been that way.

supporting your local brick and mortar stores is a good thing, buying the wrong thing at a bad price isn't. Visit a hydroponics store at least if you don't want to order on line, that light u linked might be good for veg, but an investment in a good quality grow light is a much better use of your money

I agree with suck it up and order exactly what you want online (if you live in United States). That said... my first grow was with one of those 150w HPS home depot security lights. I got a good yield and you can definitely grow with it. I would not recommend the light you linked because it is a metal halide. You can use it, but get a HPS instead if possible. With MH veg will be strong, plant will stay squat and 12/12 stretch will be less severe... but assume final yield will be around 10% - 15% less (I have never actually flowered with only MH, this is just what I've heard). With HPS the plants will stretch more, especially during 12/12 stretch, but the yield will be heavier. Some people believe plants also need blue spectrum in flower; they say this helps with terpene and cannabinoid production. For this reason I run both MH and HPS during flower. I would even like to supplement with UVB lighting (deep blue spectrum) which is said to increase trich production.

Another route is get that MH now and by the time you are ready with flower, get another good HPS setup. Depending on size and space, you could even run your 2 lights together for dual spectrum. Also I would get a minimum of 150w for growing weed or supplement with 2700k CFL in flower.

to answer your question yes that light will work BUT as everyone else has stated that light is over priced and gets very hot(speaking from experience) ,but if thats what you want to do then do it.. but seriously you can get better deals on way better lights that are close or just a lil more then what your spending on for that light.. besides 100wtt won't do to much for a grow room other then clones or just 0ne small plant
I've got 2 65watt CFL's as well.
