Can THC Be Detected?

If I grow herb but have refrained from smoking it but I touch my plants while they have sticky trichomes will the THC be absorbed through my skin thus giving me a positive for THC screen test?

That's a good question! I highly doubt it since THC is such a large molecule. Besides, I don't recall ever getting high working with my plants. You stand a better chance of popping positive if you are hanging around people while they are smoking. If you are really worried, just make sure you are wearing long sleeves and long pants and maybe some latex gloves while working with your plants.

The permeability of the skin to THC if poor, but can be enhanced using traditional carrier molecules, like propylene glycol. In fact, carbon tetrachloride http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/6113940/description.html is used as a carrier in a THC patch developed for transdermal application. So while it's very unlikely you could absorb enough THC through your skin from just handling plants, the very solvents you use to clean your bare fingers (isopropyl alcohol, vegetable oil, etc.) will actually increase the permeability of your skin to THC. So while the levels you absorb will still be very low, it's probably wise to do as the doc says, and use gloves if you're worried about testing.

i doubt it when i was in hight school and go drug tested for probation i would sit in the car while my friends hotboxed it out with blunts and i never failed tests during that time period.....Ive failed others before but not those ones.......
