Couple weeks ago parts of the leaves were dieing and I’m now noticing big chunks of leaf missing even from newer growth. Anyone know what this is? Iv looked for bugs ect can’t seem to find anything under microscope. Don’t want them to fuck up it’s my friends first grow

On second thought bet it got a lil sunburnt as a seedling and thats the after effect weeks later. Would go with the heat theory. Hps puts out a lot of IR even if the air temp is good the ir can heat the plant if its to close.

Yeah it did as seedlings and that’s what I’m thinking now aswell. But now to the chunks though I can’t see no sign of bugs at all other than the obvious chunks missing lol

Getting some sort of salt build up on the outside of the pot. If that’s on the outside what the hell is on the inside. Is this anything to worry about. That pic is after I scratched most of it off and it’s on every corner on every pot

Likely flushed salts that were in the medium. In the heat evaporation accounts for some of the water use/loss. But not the salts.

Only need to worry if they build up in the soil. Possable lock out and or burn. Next time you feed make sure you get rid of the run off. Wait 10 min for and built up salt to disalve then give them another 50% to flush out the extra salts again remive the run off. Some will wonder why flush with nutrient solution instead of fresh. Flushing mid cycle with fresh will remove all the nutrients and leave nothing for the plants when all we want to do is remove build up. Save fresh water flushes for end of cycle pre harvest.

20180826_221223.jpg 20170420_211746.jpg You will notice that the plants will be super perkey or "praying" when you dont have built up salts as a result of turgor ( think thats how its spelled) pressure improving.

I thought the salt build up was from the nutrients? Read sooooo much but this baffles me
