I have 2 autoflowers growing at the moment both a month old almost to the day. I am noticing some weird yellow spots on a few leaves. It started with one of the lower leaves about a week ago and has spread slowly to maybe 6 leaves.

This is my first grow, and I am in a 2x4x5 tent with a single 600w led, which I have been keeping at about 12” from the tops. I have been keeping the PH around 6.0-6.5. I have an exhaust and intake set up. Also I am in 5 gallon smart pots, with FFOF and about 30% perlite, the past two feedings I have given 1/8th recommended dose of FloraNova grow. If anyone has experienced something similar, or can give me any advice on what the hell could be causing this, it would be greatly appreciated.

It looks slightly over fed to me, maybe the start of some phosphorus burn. I don't know much about FFOF though or if it even needs extra nutes.

Distilled water ph to 6.0

I have this same issue I think. Pretty sure it’s nuet burn from what I’ve read and found. I’m using ffof also. About 6-7 weeks into veg started giving nuets at 1/4 then again at 1/2 and then again at full. Rotate every week with distilled water. Tested the ph of the run off and it was at 6.5 ph. The ppm on two plants was around 253 and the third was around 585 went ahead and flushed a gallon of plain distilled water through them so hopefully that helps them. Any advice is greatly appreciated

I use ffof. I'm not exactly sure what's causing your problem but your pH is too low, you need to pH your water to 6.5 in every thing you feed, every time you feed for best results, you're shutting out your cal-mag at the pH your using, it looks like possible calcium issue to me but don't try to add more calcium, the plant can't use it properly at that low a pH, correct your pH instead for best results, also check for bugs (I'm not saying it is, just to check) also what's your humidity been like?

Edit: Second picture I'm seeing the black ring around the brown circle, does this look like what you're seeing on your plant?

Yep, looks like cal-mag is locked out.

Overwatering can cause low PH.

dont know why you flushed them at those numbers. you not even close to nute burn.

You need to renute your plants or else your going to have other deficiencies show up and get a decent microbe product going = a little once a week or so. Research what microbes do.

Made no sense to me either, hence why i didn't comment. Someone is loving their plants to an eventual death ;) K.I.S.S.

Well shit. I still suck at this lol. Just figured it was nuet burn because the day before I fed them full strength they looked fine. But I guess it’s cause they’re starving. Thanks for the heads up though. They are 6&7 weeks in veg from seed so do you think I should go with full strength or half?

Its all full strength in a way isnt it. I go by little plant little ppms big plant big ppms. healthy plant big ppms sick plant little ppms. so you have a ppm meter whats half strength read for you . I grow in hydro and little veg is about 400 for me and big veg is 550 then it jumps to 600-900 in flower I have 1000 watt bulbs also and I dont like to go but just a couple hundo ppm higher than my light in veg or flower. Dirt is about the same. I have mothers in dirt feed water water feed. I just read the plant. I never gives a fuck about run off ppm its a number that doesn't matter. Add a little humic acid to your grow and you wont need to worry much about any micro-nutrient deficiency and get microbes.

If I remember correctly my Ppm was around 200-300 using distilled at half strength and around 400-500 full. I’m switching to tap water though and it’s already got 174ppm and ph is 8.0 so hopefully just phing down to 6.5 will be ok.

I use ro water and my rule is when it gets to 150 ppm time to start getting new membranes for my ro system. My tap water messes with my grow in a bad way.

What’s your ranges on your tap water? I’m limited on funds at the moment but after this grow finishes I’ll invest in a ro filter.

This why I tell Auto growers .... WATER ONLY with FFOF .

PH 6.5 only .... soil is prebuffered to 6.3
NO NUTES NECESSARY for weeks ....... and by the time it even begins to tap out you will be hitting transitioning time anyways.

When you add MORE Nutes to an ALREADY HOT SOIL ..... you will get problems ... always.
It needs nothing to feed plant.

Budz, you beat me to it. Anyone that thinks giving more fert to FFOF is good is asking for trouble. Read the bag. It has nutrients already and can last a long time if you use enough of it in a large container. There should be a sticky that addresses the use of that soil.
Bernie, what does "renute your plants" mean?

I used FFOF for a while but got tired of picking rocks out of it.

They should call it 'Ocean Floor'.

Half a bucket of gravel in every bag! :finger:

my tap is about 370-400ppms city water and my ro brings it down to 10 ppms with new membranes.

renute as in to reapply nutrients. The poster flushed his pot so he flushed out more than likely all his nitrogen in it along with other nutrients and most of his microbe population. When you do that you just have inert media and he should renute and add microbes or he could get deficiencies and slow growth.

Would flushing a 5gal pot with 1gal of distilled wash it out like that? Honestly I’m thinking maybe my ph is off more than anything else at this point. Straight distilled nuetral at 7.0 seemed to perk them up a bit. Idk I’m going to watch them and try the advice given from these threads.
