Can someone fill me in on auto strains?

ive always avoided them, I actually have a freebie ( tangie auto by blimburn seeds) from my most recent order. I never planted it but I feel I should have because this grow has been going on a while. I've been thinking about getting a veg tent and using my current 1900 watt room for flower only so I can always have some of each. But I understand autos don't require a 12/12 cycle but should anything with lighting be changed throughout the plants life. I'm just exploring my options I'll do my own researching but if someone could chime in with there knowledge or maybe even some links that would be cool.
I've never grown them because I never saw any strains that looked good. Anyone know of some dank auto strains. High in THC preferably sativa or hybrid.
Also how does a nutrient schedule work for them??
Would I be better with the tent?
Thanks

Ah there is a few things to know. There are some really nice auto out there. I am a big fan of Dinafem and Heavyweight genetics. Mephisto genetics seem to be the new guys on the block. Getting rave reviews, but I haven't grew them yet.

Autos do not like heavy nute feedings, they burn easy. As far as lighting and schedule, think of it this way, the minute the seed pops you are racing the clock. That baby will flower regardless of lighting, but in order to really push the best potency and yields, you have to maximize the light exposure they get. They grow great in tents. Personally, I run mine at 20/4, 18/6, or even 24/0... I run them under a single bulb, there is no need to switch bulbs. A 3-5 gallon pot is plenty big.

Man I kinda just threw a bunch at ya. If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them.

Super easy to grow, indoor- outdoor, heat-cold, I've over feed the hell out of them and they just took it. The dankest auto I've grown was flash seeds super auto mi6

Im really enjoying the offerings from mephisto.

I use either 24/0 or 20/4 seed to harvest depending on the plant.

As stated they dont like heavy feeds, currently feeding 1.2ec and she is thriving.

Can they be cloned or will they flower before they get a chance to grow? How do you know when to change to flowering nutes? When you start seeing preflowers?

Well. Cloning is a no go. They are so sensitive to nutes that a really good soil can just about take them all the way. I add small amounts on flower nutes when you start seeing a bunch of bud sites. Time to flowering is strain specific.
