Can my smell receptors be desensitized?

Im growing in my closet with my exhaust going right into my room. 29 days into flower and i have only ever been able to smell "Plant", not weed. Other people say they can smell it, i do smoke a lot of pot in my room, but even up close to the buds i cant smell anything but plant. This shit normal?

Yep, uv been smellin it every day, it stinks

I think people who dont grow dont know the difference between smelling plants,
and the actual good smell.
mine start smelling good at about 3 weeks but when I take someone in there
they get all pumped even in veg.

In nature plants don't live in plastic buckets but at my house they do or they get the f**k out.

It's because you get use to the smell and you don't notice it as much, what I think at least

And if ur buddies are commenting on the smell of your grow uv fucked up and will most likely be robbed or go to jail, dont let anyone know where ur growing, especially a girlfriend. Damn kids these days

its like moving near a mushroom farm or something.. smell really sucks but you barely notice it soon.
not smell but kind of like an exhaust fan. my fan is 400cfm when i first got it.. it sounded like a jet engine lol, now its barely noticable

This is a phenomenon known as Olfactory fatigue. After prolonged exposure to a certain olfactory stimulus (weed), your brain essentially becomes less sensitive to that particular smell (meaning you smell it much less)...this effect is very temporary
