Can leaves be used?

Grow it and roll it!

Hey all, I'm new to growing and I was wondering if you can use the leaves for anything when you harvest? It just seems like such a waste to throw them away... Kinda like killing a fish and keeping the eyes you know?

You can compost them for your next grow. If they have some trichs on them & you have enough you could attempt to make hash I think.

As far as I know you can use any leaves that have trichs on them. Most times the really big leaves don't get trichs on them.

Grow it,

The big fan leaves without trics do nothing. BUT, the smaller "bud leafs" that have trics on them are very usefull. Many people make hash out of these leafs, but that is if they have enough plants to make it worth while.

When I harvest I seperate my leafs into two piles. One that has trics and one that does not. The one that doesnt I trash, the one that does I dry then freeze. If I have only a few grams (6-20) I make canna butter instead of hash. Just because a couple grams of leafs will not give you enough hash to make it worth the process of extracting it.

In short your awnser is yes, the leafs can be used. Dry them, freeze them, then use them. :peace:

i only have 3 fair sized plants.should i just attempt butter or hash. i think butter would make more sense.they are jock horror at 6 weeks flowering

yea, I've heard of using the leaves closer to the buds because they have trich growth on them, but the big fan leaves I guess most people just toss.. I dunno, it just seems like such a waste  It's funny how all I wanted was for the leaves to show up and be healthy, and in the end I'll be tossin them.. ironic

ok nevermind

You can pour resin over them and make a plaque. lol. There is alot of craft stuff you can do with big leafs.lol I made paper.

haha, I never thought of using the leaves like that. "Grandpa what's that??" "Well Johnny, back when I was your age...." lol. Thanks for all the replies everyone!

Don't trash the big leaves guys - YOU CAN COMPOST THEM! That makes them at least a little useful.

dumb question.but what material should the trim be drying on?and any link to the best way to make cannabutter?

You could put trim in a cardboard box - should work. If you check into the Cooking With Cannabis forum you should find several methods for making cannabutter.

yummm maybe your leaves will look like these honeys:

Yes there are. There are tons of things you could do. I believe that THC is soluable in alcohol so you could even get a bottle & shove the leaves with trichs in wait a couple of months & drink. Whatever you choose to do have fun with it!
