your an idiot if you think I was kidding... havent you heard of people dying because mexican labor workers shit in the fields where we eat... I have heard countless news stories of people dying from e-coli that wasnt supposed to be in our food. In the past year I have heard of one 14 year old and one 21 year old dying because of spinach that pickers had shit on... Not a joke. I know it wont hurt me, because it is my bodies e-coli... But I dont want it hurting someone who is smoking with me you know...

E-coli in the soil is one thing... e-coli on your buds is another. E-coli in the soil wouldnt hurt because it is eventually consumed by other bacteria. E-coli sitting on your bud might, but maybe it wont... I just dont want me or anyone I know to be on that stupid tv show 1000 ways to die... haha

hahahaha he is techically right... The ice at restaurants has more bacteria in it then the average toilet after being flushed once... So do the lemons and limes that are being touched by the workers. i've just recently discovered bbc america on my cable, and since then i've been hooked on two shows.. top gear obviously, and secondly ramsey's kitchen nightmares..
some of those places i think to meself they make this crap up for tv, it can't really be that bad otherwise the health dpt would shut them down, right? please tell me i'm right..
i'm not though, some places you go out to eat and you have no clue what they're cooking and where they're cooking it.. :(

i try not to think about it often as i'm anti-social enough as is..

LOL this is my first inside grow dude... so nice try... I am more used to outdoors... The only reason I am asking is so I dont get sick, people die every year from e-coli I am sorry if it offends you that I do not want to be one of these people.

Well, that's funny you say that... looking through your latest posts you don't do much helping at all, then looking through your started threads you don't do much more then complain. Interesting... I am sorry you do not know about the world we live in... 123000 people per year get sick from e-coli about 1000 die.

90% of them are real. the other 10% is mostly the director adding things that will make the show more interesting or "jaw-dropping". The ones that are 100% real and ridiculous are usually like when they go somewhere in the country that doesn't get a lot of traffic. Those shows on spike though like bar rescue and stuff, those are about 20% real and 80% fake hah...
the worst that can happen in a restaurant is the chef drops your steak or something on accident, cooks it a little longer then serves it to you. Other than that all you have to worry about is the ice, lemons and anything those guys in the back are touching.
 
Cant forget about the handles on the shopping carts at the store. And Hotel remote controls, I think they list right at the top of common bio-hazards....
 
In all honesty, I've been wondering about the actual science behind scents, shit in particular. We have a really small bathroom at work, so every time somebody blows it up, I of course have to take a piss and end up putting my shirt over my nose to prevent puking. It got me thinking, what are the odorous molecules entering my nose?

I thought about the science behind it, and since our shit is moist (usually), none of the pathogens are airborne, therefore no actual pathogens will contaminate your herb.

I still would like a straight scientific answer as to what gives our olfactory glands the sensation of a certain "scent", it seems as if there would have to be some molecular matter being transferred...
 
This thread is kinda funny. But it made me wonder if E Coli could become airborne. A quick Google search just lead to even more hilarity:

Now I also found serious articles that says yes, it can become airborn. At the same time, I've been shitting in the same room as my toothbrush since I can remember, and I haven't had any problems.

Now if you handle shit (cat litter boxes, dog poop bags, whatever) and then handle weed, please let me know so I don't smoke any. But if you wash your hands well before you handle the weed, all should be good.

Sad to say yes 90% are gross. I have worked in many restaurants even left some cause they were that nasty. Im not saying that every surface is like a petri dish of filth but i can almost guarantee you wouldnt cook yourself a steak in most restaurant kitchens.

Oh and the as for shitting in the same room as your bud...Quit being lazy walk to the other bathroom and shit there. this way now there is no question.
 
racerboy trust me, if it's on tv thats just a "nice" version of how bad things can get.Places are operating all over the place with ,rats ,rotting food in fridges ,cookers that havent been cleaned in years.Then we have employee hygene ,even if you go to mcds with strictish hygene levels ,do you really think that illegal immigrant washed his hands after he took a shit and then proceded to toss your salad... i'm not optimistic.
 
Ramsey came to barefoot bobs in hull mass that's right down the street from me I have been going there for a while now... We all knew not to look in the kitchen it's that spot you go to right off the beach that they could serve a sweaty sock on a stale bed of lettus and we would still eat it to soak up all the booze in your system... Hull has one road in and one out and the cops sit there pulling over beach goers... Either way the place was horrible as assumed by all.

Now after they "fixed" it the drinks are perfect pour and SUCK and the food is worse than ever.. They really fucked themselves and it's going out of business, their biggest nightmare was letting them shoot the show there.

Its like showing someone at their worst and then expecting people to forgive and forget... If you walled in on a girl getting double teamed by two dudes and a rotten moldy cut of beef, then saw her a year later and she was like no I cleaned up my act I was even on tv... You still wouldn't (some things can't be un-seen)
