Can I Grow Peppers And Stuff With CFLs?

i was wondering if i could grow like peppers, tomatoes, etc with cfls. i dont think you could grow melon type things with them but i am unsire about other things..but id like to grow some peppers/tomatoes or somthing..someone let me know pls!

Yes - I have grown in soil and a couple different forms of hydroponics - they all preformed great.
I think my hydro plants grow faster, but soil works just fine - and you can't beat fresh goodies all winter.

lol most places in the US u cant beat fresh goodies at any given time. we are the commercial country and nothing is fresh becides the oranges in florida maybe..idk but most places u rely on the super markets early picked and chemical sprayed(commercial) fruites/vegitables.

i never really knew that u had to pollinate lol but i finally found a local hydro store and i saw the guy working there pollinating some peppers so im just going to do what he was doing if i grow some. hydro store is awsome lol good bye internet stores :)

this guy at the hydro store had a pretty cool method but idk if i should go spreading his secret lol. im sure hes on a forum or two himself.

Easy - just have a fan blowing on them, it also helps to shake the plants to help distribute pollin.

To pollinate tomatoes use an electric toothbrush and just buzz every flower a bit, pretend you are a bumble bee.

Yeah, I grew peppers before green with cfls, only 250watts, my only problem was trying to get the room warm ,,that a problem specfic for here,,

Garlic is a cool season crop. It really depends on where your at. I dont thing you would want to try it inside since it takes so long to grow. Many place you plant in the fall and harvest early-mid summer.
