Can I grow one plant at work?

Is this a serious question. Lol no you cannot grow weed at your workplace unless your woekplace is your own home.
I've been out of the industry for a few years. I don't know the current rules. Don't want to pay lawyer just to ask him one question.

It has to be a household (ie. a dwelling). If you don't own the dwelling, you must get permission from your landlord. Although I'm not a lawyer, I highly doubt that your workplace wouldn't count. First, it's not a dwelling. Second, it wouldn't be your grow, it would be that of whomever holds the lease to the property.

Why not just grow at home?

Just wanted a plant growing in the building. Looks cool.
