Can i grow beautiful Buds with just a HPS 400 watt light

hay guys, i been doing a lot of research on a good starter light for my grow room and i read that the ideal grow light should have MH light for veg and HPS for flower, but my question is, can i still grow lush buds with just a 400 watt HPS throughout my whole grow cycle, this is the light i want to buy http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=47929 Do you guys think this is a good light to start with ?
i plan to grow about 3-4 plants with this light, i hope 400 watts is ok.
 
A 400 is totally adequate for growing, it just covers a smaller area than a 6 or a 1000. So for a closet grow, a 400 is great.

yes, 3-4 plants this is good .
 
maybe look at a cooltube set up for your lights being a closet grow the help control heat
 
I use 400 watts to flower and look at the colas in my avatar.

I usually grow 4 plants and get between 2.5 & 3.5 oz per plants.

I am going with 6 Blue Dreams this cycle :bigjoint:
 
Hi penni,
You can add a metal halide conversion bulb for better vegging for only $28. It would be well worth it.
Just add it to your order under options.
 
and i would go with a DYI cool tube.just go to a craft store and look for glass tubes.look everywhere in the store they have all sorts of uses.candles,decorative wall crap ect. then get a stanley blower from wal mart. they are 45 bux and blow like a mother fucker.i wish i didnt waste money on shitty fans before i got my stanley.then look up stanley blower cool yube. open your wings and fly!
 
I started with the exact same light, three bagseed plants, and got a little over 1/2 pound, altogether. It's good for about 30" x 30", max 3'. :cool:


Now, I have 3 of those, plus a 600 watter, in an area only 1 foot wider and 1 foot longer,(5' x 5') than my first grow. Now that works great. (sorry, I have a buzz, and felt that was mildy-bragworthy.lol) :bigjoint:
