Um... O3 is ozone, not peroxide. Do you mean hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)?
There are consumer grade ozonizers available, they're used in aquaria up to large pond sizes (several thousand gallons to tens of thousands of gallons). But, H2O2 is a hell of a lot cheaper and easier to find.

I love being in rooms with ozonizers, they make it smell like rain.

Boiling water does nothing more then kill bacteria.... it does not remove excess minerals. To do that (without an R/O machine) you would need to boil water and collect the condensation. The condensation is what you would use to water the plants. Essentially a homemade "still". Obviously this is NOT the way to go.

Yes... it does matter what the solids are. Most Americans have a decent PPM out of the tap.... but there a few of us who live in "risk" locations where an excess of minerals can inhibit certain plant growth. I live near the sea and have an excess of sodium in tap. I found this out by measuring the PPM of my tap (which turned out to be way high at 550+) and then reading my water report (from the County) which showed the measures of each mineral.

For most growers, tap water is likely fine..... but indoor hydro growers will really need to make sure they understand the "content" of the PPM.

My advice would be... if you aren't having problems then all is good.... don't worry about it unless you are having problems

It works great. In it I have a closet rod in the middle with a float switch on a platform The plat form is so when I flush I can have extra, and when not, then I'm not growing green stuff in the res.. I'll post pics tomorrow when I take pics. I'll pm you when done.

Thew cost of boiling all that water would be more than buying the distilled stuff from the big machines.

Fill up some jugs leave them un capped 48hours anything harmful is out the water. No need to boil or purchase water ever agin

The only way to have the plant grow the way i should be grown for optoe grow is to use RO water anything else would be a waste of time and money. Quality and Quanity.

the cost to boil water would cost more then an ro machine.i just brought in 40 gallons of snow,it measures 20 ppm.but like i said my town water is over 800 ppm.went as high as 1000.

or just use it straight out of the tap, adjust the pH and your golden. At least for soil it works fine for me.

A ph of 7 is good

i'm glad imajoker got it right, though it took several replies to reach the idea...

boiling will sterilize water (to a degree) and kill living organisms, but it will only leave your water harder than it started with since you are removing pure h2o (via steam) whilst the contaminants remain. let it all boil off and you're left with crusty minerals at the bottom of the pot.

it's also ungodly timeconsuming and surely more expensive given the energy consumed than the alternatives like filters or pre-packaged water.

according to everything ive read/seen lately chlorine doesnt hurt plants or effect em.

Your right, it doesn't at least the amount found in tap water. My plants are healthy.
A lot of the things you hear on this site aren't true or are justs myths that everyone repeats so much they accept it as fact.
