Hey guys I apologize for the dumb question. My plants are halfway through flowering and I really want to sample them but I have no pipe or anything. Can I just eat some leaves? Or melt them into butter or something?

Yes, you can eat the leaves. Many folks eat raw leaves for their health benefits. But if you wanted to get high off them, you would have to decarb them first. That is 2 1/2 hours in an oven at 210F. A couple of weeks ago, I decarb 3 ounces my trim and popcorn from last season, then cook it down into 16 ounces of coconut oil for baking.

You can make a pipe from a soda can. Whatever you need to know, Google will take you to a You Tube video giving you step by step instructions. But I will go ahead and tell you how to do it.

Hold the can {I like pipes made from the Bud Lite aluminium bottles, but we will go with a soda can for now} with the opening up. About 2/3 of the way toward the bottom, press down to make a little valley across the can. With a straight pen {or small knife if you can apply steady pressure} make 2-3 rows of 3-4 holes in the valley you just created. This is where you put the weed. Now holding the can by the bottom with the holes up, figure out where would be a comfortable spot for your carburetor. Take a small knife and make a hole about 5/16th of an inch. Place weed on holes, hold your finger over the carburetor hole, and apply flame while drawing through the can. Repeat as needed.

A couple of weeks ago I did make a bong from a 50 cent thrift store sippy cup. Works well, but is hard to clean. I'm on the lookout for another cup like this one.

I was wondering about this; A month ago as I was trying my attempt at some tea with some dry and cured bud and was wondering if I still needed to heat up the THC first, or fry in butter first. I am still a bit confused about the whole tea process. But I may try your way and make some as you did but instead of the coconut I may use butter. I have a male plant used for seed making and I wonder what the best use for it will be?

It doesn't take that long to decarb. 2 and a half hours will probably be too much, you could be burning off other essential oils and terps.

How long do you do it? I've heard from 90 minutes to 2 1/2 hours. I was on the long side to make sure it was good and done. I'll cut back a little on my next batch.

My BIL is lactose intolerant is why we went with the coconut oil. That and I carry mine hiking, so I need something that doesn't have to be refrigerated and goes good with Ramon.

It is the healthiest vegetable of all. You won't feel anything though eating leaves.

Just roll a spliff with some newspaper.

For a male make up some hash, canna butter / oil. Butter does work but coconut absorbs the thc the best. In their raw form trichomes are not psycoactive and need to be heated in order to get you high.
Making a tea can be a tricky business because thc is not water soluble and can cause problems. You need a high fat content and heat as said coconut oilis best but if using butter use one with as much fat as possible and unsalted. A quick google search will tell you how to make cannabutter with trim..... NOW THE IMPORTANT PART!!! As tempting as the sugar coated leaves are you should NEVER chop leaves of your plant, it will shock it and even know you have a male plant thc production will be slowed a lot effecting you end result. Which when you look at the situation with a male infront of you the last thing you will want to do is make it worse... IF YOU HAVE NO BONG MAKE A BUCKET !!! Cut the top off of a 2l coke bottle ect, cut the bottom off of a 1-1.5l bottle. Put the smaller one in the coke bottle, put metal kitchen foil over the lid section and then place holes in the foil, fill bottom bottle with water, place bud on top, put a flame to it and slowly lift the smaller bottle up, take off the tin foil and inhale... free bong (sort of)

Grolsh beer bottle. Needs a metal stem. Drilled with a diamond tip. Relatively easy to clean. Just the right size too.
That would work great at the camp. But I was looking for something light weight to take on the trail hiking. Ounces makes pounds, as they say. And with the bowl inside the cup, it looks like a sippy cup. I hike a lot of state and national forest, so stealth is a must.

and I just read this: "In the cooking of edible psychoactive products, some research indicates heating cannabis to a temperature of 122 °C (251 °F) for 27 minutes to be the optimum method to optimize THC:THCA ratios."

But I wonder if this only applies to cured weed?

From what I have heard, that is too hot. You would lose some THC at those temps. But what do I know? Back in the day we baked bud in brownies at 350F. Then thought it got us high.
