some dispensery in Canada now only have begun mailing clones out and taking applicants must buy 2 clones for $175.00.
I purchase my seeds already from attitude seed bank white widow Akorn pineapple express so but was just wondering abut the rules as they are very hard to understand regarding getting started only able to purchase from the dispensery like clones legally . and not allowing u to purchase own seeds for the license to be valid

My understanding of the current laws is no-you can only legally obtain starting materials from licensed producers. This creates a couple issues at least for me.
1) clones can introduce pests and diseases. (No lp is selling seeds)
2) strain selection is limited to what the LPs have and are willing to part with
3) Wait time appears to be 1mth+ in addition to the 2-3 month acmpr registration process.
4) I choose not to support the lp's oligopoly.
Realistically, unless there's a marker gene inserted into all lp cannabis it would be impossible to prove the source of your genetics. if you really want to cover your ass, buy the cheapest lp clone you can find, take the shipping receipt and paperwork and file it, then promptly mix the dirty lp clone with kitty litter to destroy it before it infects your medical garden. If you do this please record it so we can all laugh.
I see this as an unenforceable law on the patient side - I suspect this was included to ensure they can still charge people for selling clones.

Its one hell of a confusing mess. If you apply for a permit to grow under the ACMPR and choose No under starting materials being needed from an LP, you still get approved. So Im sure they're aware of people obtaining genetics elsewhere.
And at the end of the day, they know they cant enforce that shit. Thats why they even have a No option. Otherwise it would simply ask you which LP you are choosing to procure your starting materials from.

The ACMPR legislation doesn't say anything about patients having to buy starting materials from LPs. It says "can" or "may" but not "must". Read it for yourself (attached).

You forgot #5) the insane prices they're charging for them. I can't remember how much but know it's retarded.
Plus selling good quality clones is a major conflict of interest for them. Why would they want to sell em?

The problem from HC is that I personally have been told 2 different things by different people. The legislation states that we "may" purchase starting materials from an LP, it does not state that we must.
Or just asking people you know, that is how I ended up with some 70 seeds of various crosses.

THCBiomed has the most reasonable LP clone price but it is overly high still.
