Can anyone tell me what's wrong with the plant?

Hi, Sunking, lime green, popcorn, and my other friends, I just wanted to update and did have a few questions. Sorry, was sick in bed the last few days, wanted to ask earlier. I put the MasterKush and the Afghani#1 in the netted pots and put in the dwc kit, I ordered 2 more 8" air stones, and two more two way air pumps, not expensive, it just looked like the one stealth sold me wasn't bubbly enough. I put them in added Aquashield at full strength and my husband is using General Hydro Flora Series at 1/8 strength, added the first week formula, micro, macro, grow rapid root, floralicious, and Flora Blend as per directions on the box, but started with weak notes because I have read you can overdue it with flora series using their suggested amounts. We put the netted pots just above the bottom of the root cubes so the bubbles would just hit the bottom of the cubes, but they look terrible. Did I add to much nutes or not enough? The ph is at 5.75, the humidity is around 50% we used the fan with a bucket of water seems to have helped. I just wanted any feedback on what we are doing wrong to look like this! Thanks in advance!

You are way over thinking this. From the description of your procedures you are trying to build a rocket to the moon when you should be learning how to walk. Why DWC when it is way beyond your skill level?

Man, im doing the best I can, I have cancer I'm sick, I can't grow outdoors anymore which I have done for years in Northern California so I am forced to grow indoors and I read that dwc since moving to Midwest! I don't understand why their is a place for newbies to ask questions, when you are going to get a mean attitude. All knowledge has to come from a source, that's why I'm posting on newbie, why have a place for new growers using a different technique they never used before if your going to be a jerk, I wanted help, not to feel like shit! Believe me, I use marijuana to deal with the symptoms of my cancer, I feel like shit already, why post a mean reply when I say I am a newbie asking a question!

Also, I wanted to try dwc because they said it was a simple easy way to grow, I have read every freaking book on hydro, by Ed Rosenthal and Cervantes, I read others members posts, I read info on the forum, so why is their is a place for newbies, that means "new" together a mean reply!

DWC is easy, coco is the same and easier yet, contrary to what people think, soil is the hardest. Look up the lucas method, use coco. It's way easier and less complicated. Coco is forgiving unlike hydro, but still maintains the rapid growth rate like hydro. 100w of actual cfl for 1 plant is more than enough. Especially is they're not just ever the plant but on all 4 sides to get good coverage.

They're not getting enough water, thats my opinion. Push them cubes right down and make sure the bubbles is at least half the cube, at least till the roots are reaching the water. Also I don't think you should have used the aquashield at full strength for such small plant's. Again thats just an opinion. We started our setup's roughly the same time yet I am yet to add nute's. I am wondering if maybe you over did it? May be it would be a good idea to flush and start over without nute's or the aquashield and just see if they bounce back.

ever here the expression if you got nothing nice to say than dont say anything at all ! no need to insult members especially new ones.

she stated she is a beginner and wants to learn, comments like these are what makes new member not want to come back.

what's wrong with trying to learn new techniques?

so if you got nothing to add, by actually helping and being respectful, than dont say anything at all and just go away! simple

I appreciate your concern cc dobbs, but I am an experienced grower, I am from California and yes I'm used to growing outdoors, I do understand many things about growing, I have a fuzzy logic system, I understand ph,ec, etc, I have a truncheon, I can control my grow room, it's at 50% humidity 70 degrees. I use reverse osmosis water, I just changed the filter on it. I do know how to use up and down to lower the acidity, I have my dwc at 5.75 ph, the bubbles are hitting the netted pots, I followed advice yesterday, and those two little plants are looking so much better it's unbelievable. I live out in the boonies in the middle of the freaking Bible Belt now, seed weed is $200.00 an ounce. And if you can find decent weed, I bought some lemon Kushan which cost $400.00 an ounce. I'm used to going to Harborside or Berkley Patients Group where I lived at, the people there was awesome! I apologize for being bitchy, but yesterday I had to go see my oncologist, which turns me into a total bitch out of fear from what I'm about to find out. Good news though, my tumors are shrinking, and my white blood count has gone down, so the horrible treatment and horrible side effects are worth it, I am responding to treatment:clap: I hate taking morphine, makes me feel worse, I get hazy and confused, sleepy and my doctor did prescribe Marinol which is shit, makes me feel paranoid and crappy! The only thing that makes me feel better and alleviates my symptoms is weed, I just can't believe its illegal here when it's the only thing that makes me feel better. It's total bullshit! I really do appreciate your concern, but I'm forced to grow indoors now, and I bought every book on kindle for hydro, I read many members grow journals and study so I can learn a new way to grow. Now you have me considering a soilless mixture, but I just ordered a new DWC setup, and I am learning from my husbands grow, the mistakes he has made, I have learned to correct. I have germinated my seeds and they are only 3 days old, I followed your advice, growing in solo cups, I usually use red, but my neighbor picked me up clear, but I still can switch to coco and I like the Lucus method and hempy. Using hydroton and bottom feeding.
I am only 3 days into my rock wool seedlings, I followed almost all advice given, and my babies look great. And since it is only 3 days I can still easily switch to another growing medium, like coco. I did get upset, because why would you have a place called Newbie Central for new growers to ask for help, only to be put down and feel like shit. I thought it was for help, not to say everything you do is fucked up, I do want to learn. And I have followed others advice and my babies under the T-5 with plastic bags on each one and growing in solo cups with hydroton look awesome. Yes I rinsed the rocks several times, I'm pretty anal about cleanliness. I really do appreciate your concern, that's sweet of you.
The last thing I want is to start any arguments between members, it seems like you both are concerned and do want me to have a successful grow. When I talked to the representative from Stealth Hydro, he told me it was simple, just follow the directions and you will not have any problems, he told me how simple it was, but I should remember he's trying to sell me expensive setups.
So I believe I will switch to coco, but a soilless mixture is not out of the question yet. I do know to change the resovour once a week, flush with 1/4 strength nute solution.
Thank you lime73, popcorn, Sun King and cc dobbs, I will read and study more and look at my husbands grow before I decide what to do, but definitely switching to coco, I am really interested in hempy and Lucus method. I have time fortunately to find out what to do. I appreciate Lime33 for sticking up for me, yet I understand cc dobbs comments,he doesn't want me to have a total failure on my crop, I guess the way it was said, hurt my feelings, I know I have thin skin, and it made me feel like I'm an idiot. I just don't understand why have a place called Newbie Central, for newbies, you are telling everyone I am new to this please help, just to feel like a moron, I thought we are supposed to help one another, not put each other down! But I do appreciate the fact that you want my crop to survive. I do appreciate that for real, this seed weed shit, doesn't do a thing, I need real medicinal marijuana.
These are my seeds that popped the next day in the paper towel method, let them soak overnight In a cup of Neptune's harvest seed germinator, one teaspoon per cup of water, they all popped in one to two days with cotyledons 3 to 5 mms and are all growing wonderful in the cups with hydrtron with plastic bag hats on them, thanks for all help and advice, remember I'll say it again, all knowledge has to come from a source, weren't you thought cc? Hugs, meimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg
I have around two each of aurora indica, GDP x Og, Kosher Kushan, Boss Hogg, Master Kush, and Afghani #1, I took these pictures yesterday some we're put in on the 26th and a few on the 27th. But they look great today, it's only been five days and some are putting out their second set of true leaves. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
thanks again, and lime33, thanks again, you made it easier going to the doctor yesterday, and you guys are the reason I'll stay here and keep coming back.

i would carefully take those shells off...and dont pull to hard, you just want to remove the shell from plant.

Thanks lime33 I thought I was supposed to put the shells around the plant in hydroton, is that what you are replying to as far as shells, just keep the hydrtron in the solo cups with plastic hats for humidity.image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgSorry a About the double photo and the Sophie cat pix, the cat from hell, I swear she is possessed, she speaks in tongues, and loves water, yet hates me, loves my husband though even though I feed her and take care of her, he makes her do flips on the beds and cuts up old shirts and makes her wear masks, not just for Halloween, all the time, yet at night she cuddles with her, I'm getting a boy cat! Ok, I germinated the seeds on the 25th, planted in rock wool on the 25th and 26th, they all have their first set of true leaves, I ordered coco from Amazon, did research, looks easier, you are right. It is coming tomorrow. I bought two more 8" air stones and better pump both from hydro farm! and netted pot covers and some bendable airstones, that are portable you can place anywhere, they were only 8.00 for two, so do I replace the hydroton with the coco. I really appreciate your support and encouragement and help, let me know what you mean and what I do with the coco, do I put in now and remove clay pepples, we'll as soon as my packages arrive? Big hugs, you are a wonderful caring person, I feel terrible that cc gave you shit, that was the last thing I wanted, I thought stoners like us are all laid back and friendly, I'm so sorry for the bad vibes you were given for helping me, yet I appreciate your help! Thanks again!

you still have the "seed shell" on top of the plant stems...they need to be removed, so the plant will grow.

and is that bread on your cat lol ....thats pretty funny lol

no worries about "that" -cough cough- as it happens sometimes ....it is the internet :bigjoint:
just gotta move forward and not dwell on the past..sort of speak :D

Thank you I have the lights off from 9:00 pm to 5: am, so I will remove in the morning, and yes, I lived in hate for the last year, and it wasn't hurting anyone but me mostly, letting go and forgiving was the most awesome feeling in the world, I have moved forward and on with my life, and I am a happier person for it, and I'm sure my husband is too! The past is the past, I'm no AA person, but one day at a time does help me, keeping the past in the past is much easier living in it, all I have is today, I cannot change the past, but the future can be pretty awesome, especially after yesterday's news! I'll pm you if I have any questions. And yes that is bread on that cat Sophie's head, my husband tortures that cat, he doesn't hurt her, he acts like she is his doll, weird!

when you transplant to the coco ...have a couple inches of coco in bottom of new container already ready.

then just grab the rock-wool cube by the sides with one hand and the container with your other hand and keep tipping it over until its sideways... then carefully pull the rock-wood cubes out of those containers, very carefully and just let the clay balls fall out....now you can place rock-wool cubes directly into new pots.

just remember you will want to bury the stem on taller plants a bit....just so they only stick up from the rim of pot about an inch so....and before you fill pots up with coco make sure they all look about equal...now you can fill the rest of pot with coco including the top of your rook-wool ... fill up your pots to the rim which should be about an inch from the first set of leaves.

Hey lime, feel like an idiot again, you are talking about the seed shells, duh! Amazon just arrived with my coco, I'm ready to put half of those in coco, I will follow your advice above, I am going to save half for that little DWC kit, since I already have it, and have 12 seedlings that look pretty right now. My husband followed Popcorns advice, and flushed then, they look pretty good today as well. I have to try a new technique, and will learn from my mistakes, hopefully I can get some nice clones and if I get it right, I can grow in my 6 -5 gallon setup like popcorn900, by the way, what happened to your grow journal. I'm going with advanced nutes, he's staying with flora series by general hydro. So with the coco, should I use any additives to the soil, like azomite for the trace minerals? Any other things I should add to the coco, please let me know if you have any suggestions. So I'm using 5 gallon smart pots, is that too big? Not now, I'm putting in solo cups until ready for transplanting, and will keep under the T-5, they are only 5 to 6 days old right now. Just will give them ro water, what ph do you suggest, I was thinking around 6.5? So, feel pretty good today, I guess attitude has a lot to do with the way I feel. Yes, the treatment I receive makes me feel sick, but not as bad if I keep a positive attitude and just brush off any negativity. We'll, I'm off to work, and promise to be careful removing any shells, bust most have fallen off except for two. Thanks again for the help, will let you know or will ask if I run into any questions. I wish I had my pioneer 400 for these babies, somehow it was "lost" through it being shipped across the country, as I said before, never go the cheap route, it took a month to get our belongings and cars, you know how much it sucks living in an empty house without furniture? And it took the cable company three weeks to get our internet and cable turned on, so we watched red box movies everyday, god it was boring. Then those jerk woods arrive with most of my indoor grow equipment missing, and then although we already paid before we left, they literally held our belongings ransom until we gave them another $1000.00 for what I could never figure out, I read the contract, and we paid, but what else should I expect hiring idiots out of Lake County, should have gone with a reputable company, lesson learned! Just like I hope here experimenting with dwc, gotta start somewhere and will learn from any mistakes made until I get it down, but I'm sure there is always things for me to learn, so I'll follow the advice of others and keep reading others grow journals and keep reading on the board, wish me luck! Hugs, me

Sorry for double photos, I have no clue what I did wrong!image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgI think with your help, from some awesome forum members, the plants in dwc are doing good now, I followed all instructions from the members here, flushed them, they look great now. I ordered these bags from hydro farm with coco, going to try some that way, I put two in smart pots, but the rest are still under the humidity dome with the t-5. I ordered some products from Amazon, I don't know why, but I love liquid karma, I have no idea if it really does help or not, but I have always used it with my outdoor crops, and I ordered H2O2, and those pots that you just fill with water and plant your seedling:

i am not sure about the H2o2, I already bought and I am using root shield, I read the only time you would need H2o2 is if you have slimy roots or algae, does anyone use them both together? Anyways, after following advice about flushing, my plants look great, the pictures make them look smaller than they actually are, anyways, it's time to start a journal now that I am getting the swing of how to use this wonderful place, thank you for all help!

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, a little can go a far way, I was redact to give up, thinking I couldn't do it, but I know if I set my mind n something I will get it down, I might fail once, but I'll just get back up and keep trying, thank you again. I started a grow journal, now that I have the hang of the board, so new people can get help, so I'm now just posting pictures, thank you to all who helped with great advice, it seems to be working and is appreciated so much, thank you!
