Can 700 watts of LED strips grow trees???

Yeah who ya kidding lol. Have 36 of em running in parallel off 2 12v power supplys 200w on 1 160w on the other. 4x 92mm artic f9 43cfm fans for the cooling. Not much chip data on it but im pretty sure it states 3000k-3500k 100lm a chip 9-12v 10watts
Bought em on amazon a while back. Now they r all sold out lol. In basically a 2x215044540951731709447045.jpgthe plants couldnt be any more satisfied. Thanx @Hybridway

OK, BGT, Now I should have my Strip in about a year, lol, Na, looks like China but leaving CA, *shruggs

300 watts,
150w- 4000k
150w- 3000k

Going to 4k/3k/4k/3k/ stagger on 24 inch sqr aluminum ,

I want to be able to run each spectrum separately, for dimming and All on/or/3k on 4K off/so one and so on..

Should I go with 1 single power supply like---

400W 60V Switch Power supply, DC power S-400-60 6.6A

and would I be able to connect in Series with that one?

Or should I got with the 12v parallel style power supply?

I also want to hook up a meter of sorts like we talked about with adjustabilities to watts and amps and such..

Man, thanks for your input. It seems Im going to be the only one doing these type of double diode strips so far.

The 46" strips were going to be run horizontally in my 4' x 4', but with the frames and other lights, they were just too long to run horizontally between the plants. So, instead, I am running teh 22" strips vertically between the plants. As soon as I get done making chili, I will finish installing the "divider" light and post up a pic.

I think that covers it.

NOTE: There are certainly more expensive ways to skin this cat, and I am admittedly always trying to go cheap. You could also source Meanwell dimmable drivers that may be over 90% efficient, but the one I was considering to drive my 46" strips is $200 vs. $30 I spent for the Amazon p/s.

Thinking about the @InTheValley build some more...

You can use 2 of these Meanwell constant current drivers for a more efficient (94%) driver setup.

You would need to connect the strips in series with these drivers and get a potentiometer for each driver to use to dim. However, at 1400 mA, these drivers could possibly overdrive your strips (~16.8 watts per strip). With your 12v strips rated at 15 watts, that means they can handle 1250 mA. They may do okay with more mA with heat sinks.

Just brainstorming here...

Prob go the 2 P/s route,

seeing its a 2x2 with 60,000+ lumens available, I really only need half of them, but softer more efficiate as we can get with great spread is key, as we know..

Some notes about this: Rest assured, there are no shadows in here. Next immediate purchase will be 2 disco balls FTMFW!!!! It is getting a little "busy" in here with all the aluminum, wires, and light hanger ropes. Time for some cable management.

Lighting is DONE! Time to let these mofos GROW. This thread will now become more of a grow journal, but feel free to ask about whatever or bs. My original thread title of 700 watts is out the window since I am running that much in veg. Flower will be more. All of the lights will be raised as the plants grow, which should be soon. The overhead lights right now are about 10" above the plants (only because the tomato cages will not allow me to lower them any closer) and I have no light burn anywhere, but I do have a couple leaves burnt where my nutrient enriched water dried in the leaves.

It's crazy to me how these plants are growing so many 9 leaf fans! These are clones from my last grow and I didn't notice any 9 leaf fans then. Actually I had a ton of 3 leaf fans. IMG_20170903_195245.jpg

OK, BGT. Here is what Im going to do.

Get the 1 P/s, and just have quick connects on each spectrum. So its just plug and play to change the spectrum. Then, when both are used, Ill just connect them all. simple.

Id imagine your Off/On is controlled thru simple cord and timer? Do you have switches to turn them off and such?
