Your trusting those specs? I've yet to see anyone use those cheap, SMD 5630 epistar chips, hell you can get Bridgelux EB strips for that with much better PAR.
I like them, I am blown away actually, and i havnt even came close to fullpower

but i do have to admit, I think i probably should of just bought another mars300 and put lenses and changed the diodes like i did with my other mars.

That light was bad ass. it just needed a dimmer, and now that i did my current light, i could of figured out a way to dim it,..

I just like mono diodes personally, *shruggs. Well see how this run turns out, and if I change it up, then thats probably what I will do. might even convert this current into a mono diode build if the strips dont work out.

Even 1w diodes with lenses would probably work great with 200 diodes over a 2x2,

Im about to order a PCB and diodes to check it out. its was my original idea months ago, but decided to go with strips, while keeping on the cheaper side. Heck, it will be only like $35 for the pcbs and diodes, then need driver, be a fun project, HUH,lol

I do not understand you? Of course it is fun, but you can also invest your money into something useful.
All just depends on quality of the diodes you are using! If you take again the cheapest diodes, again no efficient lighting will come out. Much heat, scant light.
For 200w you could for example use 20 Cree XML T6 or U2 bin, do not cost you $37 and you will certainly get a usable 200w lamp. Can you imagine what a lens could do on such a powerful 10w diode..?
Maybe 60° on outer rows and 90° in the middle..?

They offer them also in warm- and day-white and they also have XP-E, XT-E, ...at affordable prices.

953 watts from the wall for the entire grow area, including 3 fans, and 4 light systems. If I crank up the lights to 1 amp per strip, that number will be around 1600 watts. WTF is wrong with me?????
omg, i love this. you have a beautiful garden !!!!

i am building something similar for my 4x4 tent, using Samsung F series strips. gonna do 14-16 strips total and 50w of UV for a total of about 850-950w. bongsmilie
