Calijuana's First Grow - 1000w MH/HPS - All Feminised Seeds

Hi everyone, I'm about to begin my first grow that I've been slowly planning to do for a long time. I have nearly everything basic that I need, I think, besides a PH meter and a thermo/hygro to check temps and humidity.

I will be using soil for the plants with a 1000w MH for veg, and 1000w HPS for flowering.

I just recieved the seeds I ordered today from Attitude seedbank (who are awesome, btw) and thought I would put up a few pics of them before I began germination.

Here are the seeds in their breeder packs.

Paradise Seeds - White Berry (Fem)

Green House Seed Company -

Arjan's Strawberry Haze, Lemon Skunk (Both Fem)

G13 Labs -
Diesel (1 Free Fem. Seed)

So, here is what I am attempting to germinate right now.

2 White Berry
2 Lemon Skunk
3 Strawberry Haze
1 Diesel

All have been put into paper towels, wet until damp and covered in the plate/bowl method, also they have been placed ontop of my PC monitor which I have left on.

First update to this journal will be tommorow at 24 hours when I check the germination of the seeds, at which time I will place them in small square containers with my damp/wet soil. :)

Wish me luck, and post here with any helpful comments that you might have. I can surely use them. :weed: Pics of my setup will be coming soon.

Alright, 24 hours have past and none of the seeds have shown taproot yet. I rewatered the paper towel and placed on the warm surface again. Will report on them later tonight and see if any have popped. :)

A couple of the seeds have just begun to pop. I think they are taking a little longer since the plate wasn't on a warm source for long (got it worked out now)

Great choice on the Paradise Seeds, Im growin Durga Mata from them.

Keep us updated.

Thanks! I thought they looked/sounded awesome. I have planted the seeds into jiffy pellets now (most had a small taproot or cracked) and now I am just waiting for them to sprout. At that time I'll take pics of them and show you all my setup. =]

Hi guys, it's been about 5 1/2 days since I began germinating the seeds, and here are the results so far.

But first.. just thought I would share a few pics of my setup with you. :)

And the nutrients..

Progress so far -

I have now PHed my water to about 6-6.5, and am trying to keep it on the low side of that. Haven't tested the runoff of the pots.

5 Seeds popped and seem to be growing well. have placed them in small square pots and under my MH light.

3 Seeds didn't do anything when planted in jiffy pellets, so I am resorting to soaking in a glass of water and then taking them out (hope they sprout), 1 of these was my free Diesel seed.

And now for the pictures. Please let me know how you think these look for around 5 days of growth. Unfortunately, I messed up the germination process with the paper towel and so I have no idea which seeds are which.. sorry about that.. :( Maybe we can figure it out once they start growing!

Light cycle is 18/6 for now. Humidity is too low (20-35%) but I am misting once in a while and they seem to be OK. Thinking about buying a humidifier.

Temps are about 28-30.

Tallest plant - No idea why it's so stretchy! It seems to support it's growth well though and has thinner leaves then the rest. This normal??!

This seedling came up only about 24 hours or so ago.

Let me know what you think! (PS, sorry about the crappy closeup quality of the seedlings, they're taken with an iphone cam.) :weed:

Put your soil around the base of all the stems, until about a half-inch from the first growth.

This will encourage a stronger stem in the long run, as the soil will cause the main stem to grow roots from it. Giving you a great base at a young age.

Then move your plants closer to your light. I would say 2.5 Feet is a good distance.

Water softly, mist the top soil with a mist/spray bottle if you can before pouring, as this will help diminish the possiblity of disturbing the young root system; as dry soil takes to water funny.

No nutes for 3-4 weeks.

Once those other seeds get nice and water soaked, set them ontop of the jiffy-cubes and barely press down on them, have the seed laying sidways, like a football beore the snap.

It will automatically open and the taproot will feel the moisture is down below, and it will peak out and penetrate the soil. This is actually the best method, does not waste energy trying to pry open the seed and spread the soil.

Hi whoreable, thanks for taking a look. :weed:

As per your advice, I have buried the plants deeper in wet soil up to their necks and also lowered the light to about 2 and a half feet of the plants. So far they are looking very happy, here are a couple of snapshots!

The best seedling so far

Hi guys, seedlings are still going along well (i think), I will post pics of their progress tommorow. :) Now the free Diesel seed I've got is the last chance for any more to even germinate, so I'll let you know if it pops tommorow. If it doesn't, i'm gonna toss it.

I've been undecided on what strains i'll grow for a long time, but you've got many of my current strain ideas here.
I'll be subscribing to this one. Good luck with the whole thing, unfortunatley, I can't really give much advice though.

Hi Wild, thanks for your reply. They seem to be great to grow so far, and I will keep updating now as soon as I can.

Speaking of which, sorry I haven't updated at all since about a week, I have final exams right now so don't really have time to take too many pics. However they have been growing very well and I will definitely post pics of their progress tonight.

Thanks for everyone's patience if anyone is watching :leaf:

Hi all! Here are the pics I promised. They are looking good, as far as I can tell! I'm just sort of winging it with watering, waiting till they feel pretty dry then giving them a small watering (but not too small). It seems to be working out well! I think I have figured out which plants are which now, due to the size of them and how the leaves look although I am not too sure.

First, Here is what I believe I have now for well growing plants -

1 Lemon Skunk
2 Strawberry Haze
2 White Berry.

And all feminised, so I'm greatly happy with this as I only germed 7 seeds that were ones I bought. :D

Here go the pics!

Group Shots First!

OK, Here are the two White Berrys. I think so because they look the same and are the least sativa dominant with only 30% sativa. What do you think?

This is the smallest seedling - Going well though still I think! I believe this is the one and only Lemon Skunk.

And finally.. The two Strawberry Haze (Or so I think.) These are 70 Sativa 30 Indica. The tallest, best one has been growing like a beast ever since it started. My GF smelled it today and it even smelled a bit like weed for the first time!!! :D This sure is joyous for us even though it's such a small step. This one looks by far the healthiest, I think. The little one next to it seems to be about par with the other ones but doesn't look like the lemon skunk at all, hence why I think it's also a Strawberry Haze. I think I know my best cloning prospect for this grow!! :D :D :D

A nice shot of the two Strawberry from up above

Thanks for anyone who looks at this, hope you enjoyed the pics and now that my finals are nearly over I can start updating more regularly :weed:
