no, pot is in no way legal without a letter of recommendation from a doctor from within Cali. Kind bud is not hard to find here, though. If medical, different counties have different limits in terms of possession and cultivation, check out canorml.org
for all of that. Example: Nor Cal is more accepting towards, yet has less demand for medical marijuana (bigger market is in SoCal, but its all produced up here.) click on my link in my sig if you want a card quick. :peace:

what people have been hearing about is a bill one of our congressmen has put forth that could make cannabis legal in california as soon as 2011.. we need to rally support for this bill AB390.. it would make it legal for everyone over 18 and you can grow plants.. commercial growers would have to buy a license for $5000 and $2500 yearly renewal.. weed would be taxed at $50 per ounce..

what i've read now is that when we all were excited about the bill being heard right away this month - Ammiano was concerned that the hearing had been scheduled without his say - he still does not have a co-sponsor for the bill and so it is apparently his idea to wait and present the bill early next year - then our congress will have all of 2010 to consider it.. that will give people adequate time to raise awareness and support for it which we apparently need to do in this political climate..

i've noticed a couple other folks coming by here asking if it is legal in cali yet.. lol.. it makes sense to any stoned person that it should be legal by now.. but the sad truth is that pot is not legal in any county in any state in the US of A.. what we do have is about 13 states with medical pot programs, but as us natives know - the dispensaries get raided by the feds and it is a somewhat uncomfortable situation for a lot of people because the law is so ambiguous.. in america pot is considered by law enforcement to be a 'schedule 1 narcotic' - worse than cocaine because it has no redeeming medical value.. yet the new law clearly shows that it has multiple benefits.. i think it has become like obeying laws about stepping on white people's shadows or here - in Blythe, CA "You are not permitted to wear cowboy boots unless you already own at least two cows." these insane laws from 1937 need updating right away!!

i wonder how many people will actually move to cali if it becomes legal in our lifetime...?

Everyone that responded already is completely right, Ill just simply put it this way, California is the best of the states legally speaking for medical marijuana...
