I consider this post offensive.
I concur. I'm not a fan of the south, but I by no means think everyone from the south is a redneck or whatever was stated here. Pretty flat out bigoted statement there.

Insulting whole groups of people because of where they were born is immature, bigoted ignorance. No different than racism, sexixm, or homophobia.

People like to talk shit from a safe place.[/QUOTE]

Hello Stonerz!! I'm from the Bay Area(N. California) Oaksterdam to be exact and we have some of the best weed available PERIOD!!! So they names are pretty endless; There are about 20 different Kush strains that I could think of off the top of my head. We don't really have a name for some wonderful weed because most of it is so damn Good in Cali!! And the bunk shit we call it Bammer!!We have the priveldege of actually knowing the names of the Herb because if you are a marijuana patient like myself your bag has a label.

Hey Ganja welcome. Sounds like a real kewlish part of the world. I'm jealous:) The younger dope folks in this area speaks of "kind" do you have an interpretation for that? I'm speaking of in as a stand alone word not as in "what kind?" Afraid I fall behind on some of the new jargon.

It's really fucked up that people think the entire south is just rednecks and hillbillys...

I'm in NC and all my life I have lived around the center of the state.... about 1/25 people you meet will actually have a redneck/extreme southern accent. Nearly everyone I've met anywhere has similar sounding accents.... maybe they'll pronounce words differently or say different things but that's about it.

All I know anywhere, if you buy from a small time dealer who doesn't know jack shit about growing, he will tell you he has one of the few strains: Purple Haze, White Widows, "Chronic", "Kush", Sour D, or Northern Lights.

Very Very very few dime bag dealers actually know what they're talking about and just say shit to interest you.. but if you actually know your shit about the different strains and you ever hear one of those strains come out a of a dime bag dealers mouth you would probably laugh and not buy, and if you do buy it would probably be some mids.

Around here... it's really the crowd you hang out with on how they talk about weed...

Not to be racist, but these are the groups of people I hang with.

When I hang out with my white stoner friends we always say
Scwag - shitty weed
mids - ok weed with seeds
Beasters - fairly good weed, few seeds, not quite dank.
Dank/Headies - Best weed you can get....not saying there's something better but around here when talking about the weed Dank or Headies is used to describe the best.

Now when I hang out with my black friends, they say things like
Balley - talking about weed in general.... never heard that word anywhere in the world except my local area
mids...-see above
dro - good weed...even though hydroponically grown weed has nothing more special to it other then more actual bud yield since the plant spends less time making roots.... Nothing is better about hydro weed vs soil other then more yield.
and of course the uneducated pothead words of "Kush, chronic, purp, white widow", etc. They use them to grab your attention and make you think it's good.

If you buy from most dimebag dealers, any strain with a slight hint of purple in it will be referred to as purple haze, I can guarantee it, it just goes to show how dumb people are.

not all of cali knows whats up..we still got dumbasses like everywhere else.....they just call it weed and they dont care about the name...

all i know is...i like to know what im smkn on :)
In all honesty, unless you're growing it and may need specific information about the strain or it's characteristics I don't see why it matters so much. A lot of people will pay for a name.

I'm pretty sure you could call any good weed any crazy name you could think of, and 90% of people aren't going to know the difference. Unless you grow it or know who grew it personally, you probably don't know what you're smoking on. They're happy to tell you whatever you want to hear though.
