Where on the website are you seeing this? I think a couple years back they were using led engin chips. Never used their lights but have always considered them to be better than most out there. Spoke with them a few times and was impressed with their knowledge and professionalism.

Looks they are using Oslon SSL80 and running them at about 2W ea in the newest units. If so, that should be a nice step up from the lamps using generic LEDs. Looks like very few whites in the fixture.

@ SupraSPL your right on not much white, I have been very impressed with the CLW gear I own a few and all have earned a good spot with me. Not too hot on the t8 uvb on my 440 but gimmicks work.

But ya know what's good about those CLWs with T8s CW415? You can mod the fuck out of CLWs that have them. You can replace those UVBs with Philips white LED T8s or wait a bit till someone makes a CREE XHB based T8. Or you can be a clever fucker, rip the whole T8 system out and replace it with a T-bar loaded with mini CoBs ala MrFlux. Got options with CLW UVB models when you think about it .

I love my solar storm 440. Almost finished with my first run using it and I really don't have one bad thing to say. It runs a little warm for the tiny tent I have it in, but that is on me. The light penetration is obviously not on the level of HID, but some t5 side lighting and I was good to go.

^^^LOL Mmmmm pie. Does the Philips void the warranty? It uses the existing ballast/starter/whatever. Actually does Alibaba have build your own T8 LEDs like they do LED light bulbs? One could start a little business building an add on LED T8 for the CLW. Put some real UVB LEDs in them along with some whites for a 4 hour per day blast. And it's CLW so you can charge thousands!!!!! LOL

Warranties? I don't need any stinkin' warranty. And I guess that explains why customer service is dead last to me. LOL

Ive got two 440s. I have them mounted right beside two hids i my tent. I set up a blind on one of 440s so it wouldnt catch any spillover light from the hid next to it juzt to see how it would do on its own. I wasnt all that impressed.... but i wonder if it is my fault. Im was keeping my tent at around 74-78f because thats what im used too and then i read the CLW grow tips and found out that better results can be had if canopy temps are around 81ish...

I wonder...is where your temps are at?

On a side note...the 440 that i have going along side the hid without the blind is over my runt and she is cranking the bud out like crazy...
