I think I know what most people will say but wanted opinions. When I started growing (15 years ago) it was all Amsterdam genetics, then a few years ago we (non-med state) finally got access to Cali strains and also Spanish strains. So..... in your own personal opinions, who's got the dankest of the dank? Please only post on grows and smoking experiences, not what you read in descriptions from breeders. Sorry I forgot Colorado, Canada, and the pacific NW, I mean no disrespect to those states as I know they have some fire also. Happy holidays to all!

IMO American genetics have been the best of the best for a very very long time. In the late 70's I started getting area grown MJ that was head and shoulders above average. Those genetics ended up in Amsterdam for them to work with. Skunk was around long before Amsterdam marketed it.

Genetics coming out of areas like Kentucky, North Carolina, Ozark Mountains (Missouri and Arkansas), Tennessee were some of the building blocks for the Amsterdam MJ.

even if another place holds "the best" at a set time, you have to notice that the US is responsible for MOST of it. look how the laws changing is effecting the game.

I am pretty sure that you could have said that when they first legalized it in amsterdam. Since all these genetics originally stem from landraces all over the globe, what's the point? Sure, the US has great cannabis genetics, a few good seed companies, and a few hundred/thousand skilled hobby breeders, but we also have plenty of seed companies trying to pass fake cuts and producing shitty products. So does amsterdam, so does spain, so does anywhere. Such is the nature of the business. There are good companies and bad, figuring out which are which is up to the individual and individual preference. Personally most american breeders bore the shit out of me with their work. But hey, maybe I'm the only person who feels that he only needs one or two really good OGs and one or two really good diesel representations in his stable.

In all fairness you have to look at the original Q. Who has the best stuff that uve personally tried and grown. Im the one who selected Spain. lol

you could argue that afghanistan is responsible for most modern cannabis hybrids, due to the indicas that came out.
i just feel if u wanna back track with out going back all the way to landraces that the US has had their strains used the most lately.

If u like auto's alot of the wild ruderalis originated in central russia and that area.

Well, first off, good growing is the most important factor, at least as important as genetics. I'd much rather have extremely well grown Skunk than some average clone only cali whatever. If you want my real answer, then it would probably be that while the US may have produced some of the best genetics, as far as haze, skunk, and the classics, I think the dutch have done better work with them. This is based on my experience growing regs and growing clones from regs. Of course there are exceptions to this on both sides.

say what!??! should i reword he fucking question so you haters can answer? which country has the best breeders?(doesnt matter where they reside, but where did they start and where did there genetics origionally grow at.

the best, for the most part have come from the US of A. spain in a close second and Amsterdam in 3rd because of all their money making schemes.

Personaly i belive Cali in paticular has the best genetics in the world but they also have had the most time to refine and pheno hunt these strains (as far as the US is concerned)... Seems to me Amsterdam just whats to get ahold of some US genetics and work with them... Spain at least has its own identity and produce some fire... I think if it was just a sativa compatition it would be a close race with spain but that skywalker (sativa og) is that eww wee... Anyhow there is gonna be a bias no matter because most the people u r gonna get a responce from are americans... With that said no one is fuckin with the Cali Kush IMO

First part about the Good grown skunk over the middie cali gear. yeah i would hope ANY one with a bit of knowledge about growing would agree.
Second part about the work done with the US genes.... dude. Spain has taken holland and usa's genes and made some awesome stuff. spain over holland ANY time with my bean experience. in fact id go with the UK before id go with the NED. sry :)

Do you know why morroccan hash sucks so bad? because the plants are just growing feral, no care given and no selection. You know why Afghan is so good? Because they take pride in their shit and they selct the plants for desired traits and give their crops care. Afghan isn't ferel.
The US of A breeds and grows the finest marijuana on the planet, plain and simple.

The best landrace but of the "worked" genetics America hands down.
Your so called worked genetics are most likely seeds from either one of those places... The breeding process just isolates favorable traits. Some of these traits are expressed naturally in their original environment. The united states does get +1 rep for consistency of watering down the gene pool...

Moroccan hash sucks because the plants are growing in extremely adverse climate conditions. Its convenient for those growers to grow in those mountains because of limited law interference and hassle. Yet, their plants still thrive because of good genetics. Only the strong survive and they have been growing there for a very long time. Afghan is good because those plants have been growing there for thousands of years in conditions better suited for higher quality marijuana and once again the gene pools are thick. Your crazy if you think that all Afghan plants were "specially selected". Its only common sense take a good p1, and p2, if you are a gardener/farmer. People who are closer to using herbs and have a more herbal approach to medicine are inclined to have more genetically dynamic plants as they have been doing this for generations. Its cocky of you to think that in the last few decades all of a sudden weed has gotten better. The genetics have always been in there. Growing weed indoor allows the control of conditions and allows more consistency. The only thing these so called breeders have done is brought about more consistency and dilute the gene pools. Nothing against them but true is true. You can breed a wolf to a dog but it will never go back to being a wolf...

omg READ the ORIGINAL POST!!! PLEASE!!! he is asking who CURRENTLY holds the best genes REGARDLESS of where the plants landrace genes come from. alll marijuana strains are landrace mixes, how could they not be!

STOP POSTING ABOUT LANDRACES!!!

EDIT: OMG the guy above is SOOOOOOO WRONG.
GO watch the strainhunters video for morocco. They mostly use Pakistan indicas now. there are only a few pure Moroccan growers still.

You do realize you are on an entirely different topic. So you can understand it easier, who breeds the best "diluted gene" MJ?
